Curate Space

Curate Space Curate Space hosts seminars, training, workshops, meetings, performances, forums, launches, networking & functions. Welcoming your guests, you’re already spent.

The integrated space incorporates a venue, meeting rooms, lounge, business centre, accommodation & hospitality kitchen. Spaces and events co-curated by a network of presenters and producers. The integrated space incorporates a functions venue, meeting rooms, serviced co-working office, exhibition space and accommodation, all in one central location! A useful base for business trips to Melbourne. I

t is a community where professionals can collaborate, cultivate and engage with their audiences. The program of events includes seminars, training, workshops, performances, forums, product launches, yoga, exhibition openings, networking and functions. This is an initiative of Strategic Artistry, which also provides a range of in-house services, programs and expertise. With a career producing events for government, councils and industries, the founder of Curate Events has designed a 360 service, allowing presenters to focus on what they do best ... on stage. With confidence that everything else is taken care of. Curate events produces your event, including marketing, crew and logistics. While we deliver events across Australia and New Zealand, we also have our own venue in the Melbourne CBD with accommodation on site for visiting presenters and performers. You’re the Presenter, Let us care for the Rest. After a long day of travel, you arrive at the lonely hotel room. After only a few hours sleep you rise early to get to the venue and set up for your event with limited support. And you’ve not even started the long day of presentation and facilitation! The Curate Events Team has personally experienced the challenges of business travel and the speaker circuit. This inspired the creation of Curate Space. On arrival, you are welcomed back to your Melbourne venue and accommodation by your LOCAL CREW. Rising Stage Ready you find the venue set up to your needs, with the preferred configuration and audio visual equipment ready for your presentation. Your crew are ready to welcome your guests with fresh coffee on arrival. Want to fill the room? If it’s a publicly ticketed event you can tap into the Curate Space networks and connections through our marketing and ticketing system. We also have meeting rooms and coworking space to support your business needs. Deliver more compelling events with Curate Space as your local team. Waiting for venue confirmation is always a pain. Now you can book spaces and event services instantly via the Curate Space App or website portal. So you can start promoting your programs straight away without delay. Many presenters on the speaker circuit have made Curate Space their Melbourne base when on tour. "Its my home away from home for all my Melbourne events, I feel comfortable in the space and on stage." Membership and Joint Venture options are available for those who are looking to have a regular base for their program of events and business meetings. Discuss your needs with our crew to explore the options best suited to you.

This week as part of Melbourne Fringe, we host a musical theatre production of Disorderly Women.

Songs, scandals & shenanigans as a ship of feisty women are transported to Botany Bay!
“Disorderly Women”, a lively new musical play, tells the story of the first female convict ship that transported women from England to Sydney Cove in 1789. Scandal followed the ship, the Lady Juliana, and it became known over time as a floating brothel. We meet the rumbunctious women who made the perilous journey, seeing their heartache, fear, conflicts, humour, and warm camaraderie. Stuffed full of memorable songs from a range of different genres, and performed by gifted performers from the Melbourne music scene, don’t miss this uproarious, poignant and engaging musical!

Food and green waste is collected from CURATE Space by bicycle courier and turned into compost for community gardens. We’ve been part of the Good Cycles Good Butler program for over four years now. We explain the system at every event we host, which raises awareness of the initiative and how venues and hospitality can be part of the solution to landfill problem. Our venue now averages only a kg of landfill each week, made possible in part through this initiative.

Last night at CURATE Space we hosted an engaging discussion on ‘Atlas of Human Rights - Violations and protections in Australia and abroad’. CEO of Human Rights Law Centre, Caitlin Reiger and CEO of Reichstein Foundation, Rachel Ball joined Folio Collective in unpacking the important topic.

Human rights are universal principles that apply to all people, regardless of their race, gender, religion, or any other characteristic. They are the foundation of a just and equitable society, ensuring that every individual is entitled to basic freedoms and protections.

Unfortunately, human rights violations are all too common in many parts of the world. From discrimination and inequality to censorship and repression, millions of people suffer every day from abuses of their basic rights. However, it is not just a problem that exists outside of Australia. Even within our borders, there are ongoing issues with systemic discrimination, the treatment of refugees and asylum seekers, and the protection of Indigenous rights.

Together, we will explore topics such as the role of international law in protecting human rights, the challenges of enforcing human rights in practice, the intersectionality of human rights issues, and the importance of community activism in promoting change. By coming together and engaging in thoughtful dialogue, we hope to increase awareness and understanding of human rights issues, and inspire action towards a more just and equitable society.
