There are two of me.

Which sounds incredibly helpful when you run an events business.

Except sometimes it's... not 😂

My twin, Eline, often arrives at a venue before I do.

By then, I've already spoken to the venue team and said something like: Fabulous, I'll see you on the day!

So on the day, Eline walks in first.

They think she's me.

They start chatting to her like they know exactly who she is.

Meanwhile, Eline is thinking...I have no idea who this person is 😂

Sometimes the venue team even starts to wonder - is this the same person we've been speaking to this whole time?!

Then I arrive.

And suddenly it's; Ohhhhh. There are TWO of you!

😂

Eline is part of so much of my life and business.

She's on site with me, she's in the background, she's my biggest cheerleader...

And apparently, every now and then, she's also accidentally impersonating me 💃🏼

Venues, consider this your official warning 🤣

Mum was 60 when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. 7 years ago.

It doesn't arrive all at once. It slowly teaches you how to live in the in-between. The space where both things are true.

Eline and I have become carers as well as daughters. Some days we grieve the mum we've lost. But she's still here, and some days she reminds us exactly who she is.

Her trainer comes in twice a week and we try and keep her doing all the things she loves. Dancing is pure joy. Don't get her started on Dancing Queen or The Sound of Music. She'll have you singing along!

You grieve what's slipping away while feeling deeply grateful for what's still here.

Some days feel heavy.

Some moments catch you off guard with joy.
Often, both happen at once.

This road has taught me that joy doesn't disappear in hard seasons.

It becomes more intentional.
More sacred.

More worth holding onto.

If you're caring for someone you love, know this:

The moments still matter.
Love still shows up.
And finding joy doesn't mean you're ignoring the grief.

Both can exist 🤍

“You’re doing next year’s event” the CEO said before this year’s event had even started…

We’d spent months planning this Gala.

Run sheets.
Floor plans.
Suppliers.
Guest flow.
Contingencies.

All the things nobody really notices on the night.

And before the first guest had even arrived, he was already talking about next year…
It caught me off guard, but it was such a proud moment 💫

The next day, my client, who I’d been working so closely with to plan their big night, contacted me to say how awesome the night was and to put next year’s date in the diary 📅

I have to be honest, that feeling is pretty hard to beat.

Repeat business isn’t just about a beautiful event, it’s really all about trust.

We are all about making the process feel easy for our clients.
It’s about knowing someone has thought through the details.
And knowing they have your back.

That’s what I want Carter & Ko to be.

Welcome to wedding season 2026–2027 🤍

But can we take a moment for Selynna and Jory?

I mean… gorgeous doesn’t even cut it.

The most stunning couple, inside and out, and the love in this room was something we honestly can’t explain. You could feel it in every corner ♥️

It was such a privilege to be there, to coordinate the details and to watch this beautiful day come together.

The time I became an AV technician 🎧

Five minutes before an event, something doesn’t work…
Everyone is looking around.
You somehow end up holding an AUX cable, opening Spotify, troubleshooting something you absolutely did not sign up to troubleshoot.

The funny part isn’t even the problem.

It’s that event planners apparently have 47 completely unrelated jobs.

But underneath all the chaos, I still pinch myself daily that this is my job.

That I get to work with incredible clients, create experiences I’m proud of and build a business around something I’ve loved for 18 years 🤍
