Words are a very powerful thing… ❤️

Writing has always been an escape for me when going through my own hard times and now when I put pen to paper (fingers to keyboard!) I get to write eulogies and quotes and poetry for families who need it during the hardest times in thier lives… this week I had the honour of being involved in celebrating the life of an incredibly loved young man, fiance, son, dad, grandson, nephew, father and great mate, who has gone to join his brother who passed away just last year, up above… xx

After a massive week filled with the celebration of five different lives and working so closely with five different wonderful families, this is how I opened this mornings service to reflect the life of the beautiful Annalise and it was a celebration of life that I will never forget ❤️

If I have learnt anything about what I do, it’s that life is about the importance of chasing JOY! Xx

It’s been a whole week since my handsome little brother married his beautiful bride and it was awesome!!
I LOVE being a celebrant but I must say, when I get to be up there doing my ‘thang’ with loved ones, it’s pretty amazing!

So proud of these two and super privileged to be their celebrant at this stunning location with all our family and their special friends 😘

This gorgeous vet nurse and this handsome police officer celebrated their love at the stunning property of Bianca’s folks and it was truly amazing!!!

Their light hearted ceremony was filled with all the emotions and even though they are both North Melbourne supporters- they don’t let that get in the way of enjoying life and embracing every bit of FUN and making memories together!!
They have travelled the world and are incredible parents to their 5 furry friends, all the while living, laughing and loving together knowing they have so much to look forward to!!!

I first met this stunning bride when we she came to my home and helped us send our doggy Kobe to heaven a couple of years ago… I was truly honored when she asked me to be her celebrant and I wish these two every bit of happiness and joy because they truly deserve it! ❤️

People say to me every week ‘I don’t know how you do your job!’ The thing is, it’s not just a job to me. It’s a genuine love and passion and one of the most rewarding parts to all of this, is the people I get to meet and the deep connections I make along the way.

Although every story is different, some are relatable and last week, three out of the four services I was involved in were for young men whose lives were dictated by the paths they chose and the consequences involved… throughout it all, they always had love in their lives.
During one of the services, I decided to share one of my personal poems (tweaked a little to better suit) x

‘Precarious is life
As it divides in to two
Theres the you before all this
And the version searching for new
Addiction has a way
So strong with its regress
Succumb to the terror
Your life a dilapidated mess
Left alone inside your head
Sinking in your skin
Each day life gets harder
As you fight the war within
We tell you it gets easier
But your anger feels so hot
While loneliness is cold
And happiness is shot
Our love for you is strong
We were a part of your team
But this love wasn’t enough
To help you reach life’s dream
The dream is to be free
Be free from demons dwell
But damage had been done
At times you were but a shell
No one has the answers
Although our hearts ached to help
To make you feel alive again
Too many cards were dealt
At times we feared you were knocking
Knocking on heaven’s door
But we loved you all the time
Even though you were at war
Even through the times,
The times that you forgot
Forgot how to love yourself
Always refusing to untie the knot
Happiness and health expired
Taking away your dopamine
And our work and lives go on
While thinking of you in-between
The past it has been done
This we can’t rewrite
But we hope you’ve found your peace

WHAT A MAN….!

It’s not often I post about the funerals I have the privilege of being involved in but it’s been a massive few weeks filled with all sorts of emotions and with the blessing of Brendan’s fiancé, their blended family of five gorgeous kiddos, and his devoted mum and dad, I share this post 💜

Brendan passed away suddenly just days before his 41st birthday and on Monday we celebrated his life accompanied by a sea of emotions…
He was a down to earth, good Aussie bloke who’d give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it… if there was an award for the worlds greatest dad- it would go to Brendan Vivian.
Making it all extra special, his family shared tributes, including his five children who bravely got up and shared their memories…

‘Dear dad…
You were my whole life. My favourite thing to do with you was to sing karaoke ride my Fourwheeler and go in the big tractor with you.
I love that I was your favourite little princess and you gave the best cuddles in the whole wide world.
I will always love you and remember you. When I get sad, I will look for you in the sky and I know you are the brightest star.
I love you to the moon and back lots of love your favourite little princess Harper.’

In dedication to Brendan and his awesomeness, we ended his service by quoting some lyrics from a song titled ‘Dad’ by Tyler Wood and it was so fitting… xx

What a stunning day this was (stunning and HOT!) as these two completed their puzzle by saying their ‘I do’s’ in front of all their favourite peeps!
This included their four GORGEOUS babes, their family and friends and all of Tyrael’s family who flew over from New Zealand to be there!

Samantha and Tyrael are two of the most family oriented people I’ve ever met and this incredible day was filled with so much love, culture, good vibes and memories that will last them a lifetime!
