DJ Sophie Joy .:::. Curator of Jazzy Beats and Funky Jams Digs on horn stabs, jazz licks, a whole lotta soul and funky hip hop beats. She's also had her own show on local station RPP FM too.

Self confessed music nerd, Sophie Joy has been taking over stereos at every opportunity for most of her life. From being THAT person at a party who has 'just one more song' to play for you, to having actually being paid to choose music once upon a time as a programmer for Triple M Melbourne and Mix FM Perth. Funk, soul, hip hop and jazz influenced beats for the discerning music lover.

By night, you cats will often find me slinging funk around the peninsula, but by day, I’m working with young people who are experiencing homelessness.

As a case worker at , I support young people from all walks of like, facing all kinds of challenges, to identify and work towards their goals.

Fusion is a not-for-profit organisation who offer housing for young people and intensive support to set them up for future success in their lives. But we don’t do it alone! It takes a village to raise a child. And our local community is absolutely part of our village. So it is with great pleasure that we invite you to our Village Fair on Sunday 29th March.

By coming along and enjoying some live music, market stalls and the delicious delights of our local food trucks, you are helping support some of the most vulnerable young people in our community.

I’ll be there bringing the funk and I would be absolutely so thrilled to see your smiling face there!

Today’s set is the 2nd & 3rd hour of my gig at Jetty Road Brewery. There was a 21st celebration going on and some frothers dancing behind me like it was a boiler room set. It was a fun time!

Gonna try a monthly gig guide this year because if I’m honest, remembering to post weekly isn’t one of my strengths.

So here it is! Now you can pencil in your diary and plan ahead to make a date with your crew 🤗

You’ll usually find me fortnightly at my spirit home, , and Feb is no exception.

Also SUPER pumped to be playing for the first time at ! Mornington is my old local so it will be so nice to be back representing the funk for 3931.

The weekend that I haven’t got a gig posted, I’m playing a private wedding for two of my friends which I’m super honoured to be asked, and very much looking forward to it! 🤍
