Tipsy Hill Estate A beautiful terraced Mediterranean-style house and gardens along the crest of a ridge with vineyards falling away on both sides, creating glorious views.

A perfect backdrop for your perfect day. Tipsy Hill offers one of the most stunning locations in the McLaren Vale w**e region. The property is set high on a hill with spectacular views across the region, and is surrounded by vineyards on either side of the garden. The garden is a maze of exciting areas, all linked by paths and offering a variety of seats, arches, pillars, walls and hedges. There is a unique spot with magnificent views at the end of each path, creating the perfect setting for the memories of a lifetime.

🌳 Garden Rambles with Marian….

🌿 A little care now, for years of graceful growth ahead. Our beautiful weeping willow at Tipsy Hill Garden is receiving some formative pruning - carefully shaping its structure while it’s still young to encourage strong, healthy growth and that elegant cascading form we all love.

A few thoughtful cuts today will help guide this tree as it grows, creating a beautiful feature in the garden for many years to come. ✂️💚

Because sometimes, a little pruning is all part of the journey. 🌱

A little burst of fire in the garden🔥🌿

Our Kniphofia (Red Hot Poker) is putting on a spectacular display at our Tipsy Hill Garden, with its vibrant blooms adding pops of colour amongst the winter landscape. These striking flowers are not only beautiful to admire, but they’re also a favourite with visiting bees and birds.

🌼 A little touch of spring... in the middle of winter

Marian says the garden is a little confused this year! With the mix of mild temperatures and changing daylight hours, some of our daffodils have decided not to wait for spring.
Nature has its own timeline, and we’re certainly not complaining about these cheerful bursts of colour brightening up the garden 💛

☘️ Garden rambles with Marian ☘️

Today talking about Deciduous trees…. These are trees that lose their leaves each year. Here’s what happens through the seasons:

🌱 Spring
New buds appear on the branches.
Fresh green leaves begin to grow.
Many deciduous trees also produce flowers.
The tree starts making food through photosynthesis again.

☀️ Summer
The tree is covered in full, green leaves.
It grows quickly and stores energy from sunlight.
The leaves provide shade and shelter for animals.

🍂 Autumn
The days become shorter and cooler.
Leaves change colour to yellow, orange, red, or brown.
The tree stops producing as much chlorophyll (the green pigment).
The leaves fall off to help the tree conserve water and survive winter.

❄️ Winter
The tree has no leaves and is dormant (resting).
It uses very little energy.
The bare branches can better withstand cold weather until spring returns.

Examples of deciduous trees include Oak, Maple, Elm, and Birch.
