This September, we are proud to be sponsoring the Mid-Mountains Garden Festival 🌿
On two consecutive weekends (12-13 and 19-20 Sept) there will be 11 beautiful gardens around the Mid Mountains open for viewing. And having seen them all, let me tell you - they're all AMAZING in their own different ways. So much diversity; from beautiful cottage gardens, to interesting permaculture and veggies, an orchard, a succulent & cactus haven, a tropical paradise, some gorgeous traditional mountains gardens, lots of beautiful native plants, and even a couple of peacocks!
All profits raised from this event go to Hazelbrook Public School. The event is run entirely by parents and volunteers, and has been going strong since the 1980s.
As Blue Mountains locals ourselves, and parents of a child at HPS, we're very happy to be helping organise this wonderful event, and have loved seeing firsthand how the community has come together to bring it to life. We have also seen what a tangible difference the funds make to the children on a daily basis - everything from the popular canteen to various tech upgrades, book vouchers, and a soon-to-be-launched breakfast club.
So if you fancy a day-trip to the beautiful Blue Mountains (or perhaps make a weekend away out of it!) check out www.midmountainsgardenfestival.com for tickets and a list of activities (inc workshops, kids play sessions, honey for sale, and a scavenger hunt for the kiddos)
And don't forget to come check out the plant stall, where we'll be selling lots of pretties (including many grown by volunteers at the school's greenhouse) to raise more funds for the school.
