Welcome Ash
WELCOME ASH BRAZILL | WAFLW Coach & Operations Manager ⚡️
Peel Thunder's Women's Program has entered a new era, with Ash Brazill stepping into the newly created position of WAFLW Coach & Operations Manager.
One of Australia's most decorated dual-code athletes and leaders in women's sport, Ash brings a wealth of elite sporting experience from her AFLW career with Collingwood and Fremantle and her domestic and international netball career with the Australian Diamonds.
Ash has also held a number of coaching and leadership roles, including captaining West Coast Fever, returning to the club as a specialist coach and assistant coaching locally with Peel Lightning.
"We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Ash Brazill to the Club. Ash brings an elite level of sporting experience, leadership and energy to the role, and her appointment is a significant step forward for our Women's Program," Peel Thunder CEO Daniel Bandy said.
"Ash also understands what it takes to operate in an elite sporting environment, and we're confident she will help drive a culture built around high standards, professionalism, accountability and a commitment to continuous improvement. We believe Ash has the skills and passion to make a real impact and we're excited about what the next chapter looks like under her leadership."
Speaking about her decision to call time on her AFLW playing career and fully commit to the role, Ash said:
"I've just told my team that this is going to be my last year playing for the Dockers. Comes with exciting news as well. I've been offered the head coach role at Peel Thunder. You know, I think everyone probably thought it would have been a tough announcement for me, but it's something I'm really proud of, really excited for.
"But as a head coach, I want to give these players like all of me. I want to be completely in, completely dedicated, and yeah, just available at the drop of a hat."
Welcome to the Thunder, Ash! ⚡️
