Nobody's perfect, right?!
But Judy and Brett beg to differ!
Judy says that Brett is Mr Perfect. She just can't fault him! And he really is an awesome fellow! (And so he must be for my lovely university friend of many years!)
To Brett, Judy is Little Miss Sunshine. He said that he just loves her to bits!
And also perfect and full of love were their many guests, their incredible garden, their fabulous reception - and just everything, really!
Not even a heavy two-minute shower in the middle of the ceremony could dampen things. "Keep going", said Judy when I turned to them to gauge their reaction.
And so we did, with the certificates tucked inside by a helpful guest.
By the time the ceremony finished, there was bright sunshine again. But of course there was! Little Miss Sunshine and her Mr Perfect decreed it!

It was a complete joy to marry Penni and Paul last Saturday in their beautiful backyard, before their wonderful family and friends!
The day was perfect all around - relaxed but extremely well organised, thanks to the hard work of Penni and Paul and their dedicated crew in the leadup to the big day!
Of course, Penni and Paul looked wonderful, and so very happy! And what more could you ask for? They are two very independent people, with many differing interests, but a shared love of travel and adventure! They have always been united in love and respect, and now marriage!

I have so much to say about the beautiful wedding of Meg and Jesse, and the glorious people who made up their day. But for now, the incredible Scott, from Turner Studio, has wonderfully summed it up with words and his stunning images!

You see, Meg is my one and only niece, and marrying her to the fabulous Jesse was incredibly special. (I did manage to hold my tears of joy until the next day, although I was in the minority! 😊😃) Xx 🤍

How beautiful to round out my year of beautiful ceremonies by reflecting on the wonderful wedding of Astrid and Joel.
I’ve known Astrid for many years, and I was beyond thrilled when she asked me to officiate her wedding to Joel in November.
As expected, it was a beautiful, elegant affair at the stunning Gardens House – made even more beautiful by all of the top-notch vendors and their wares. (Kate Hill’s flowers, sigh… And the post-ceremony cocktail that I wanted to scarf down at the rate of knots after the warmish ceremony, etc, etc!) But what made it stand out – as with all great weddings – was the outpouring of love for and by all present, and the many personal touches such as the Filipino wedding rituals that we conducted with the assistance of Astrid and Joel’s young nephews.
In fact, children were central to the celebration, with the nieces and nephews acting as the very sweet Flower Girls and Page Boys, Joel’s son Freddie was the proud Best Man and little baby, Sidney, was the most adorable “Mini Groomsman” – complete with an itty-bitty dinner jacket. Sidney did get a bit over wearing a jacket for the ceremony and also wanted to come and join his Mum and Dad during the middle of the marrying. Fair enough! Bub was a bit teary in very excellent hands but not in the arms that he wanted. I could see that this was making Astrid a little upset. So, of course, I asked Astrid if she wanted Sidney to come join us, and we just stopped what we were doing for a moment for Joel to stride over to Sidney, shuck off his little jacket, and we continued to hear Astrid and Joel’s most stunning personal vows! (They actually elected to read them to each other for the first time during that week, and I think they were every bit as meaningful when they were read again the second time!)
Astrid and Joel’s story has been one of a wonderful “midlife” love match, thanks to Joel deciding that it was time to start dating again as a kind of New Year’s resolution, the introduction of their mutual friend who knew these two were right for each other, and a first date at the very classy Dessaus bar in Melbourne’s CBD with great drinks, oysters and conversation. Within weeks Astrid and Joel were firmly an item. What followed was much time spent together among their busy lives, trips away, supporting each other during both happy and sad times, buying a house together and having their longed-for Sidney – all in a couple of years!
When it’s finally right, it is just right!
Thank you so much, Astrid and Joel! It was a joy to marry you and be part of your beautiful day! Wishing you much love and happiness!

Pssst… Are you about to propose Marriage?!

Are you a little distracted at work at the moment, because let’s face it, who isn’t in the last few weeks of December?!

I get it, you have been brewing a secret scheme: a MARRIAGE PROPOSAL over the Christmas/New Year/January holiday period!

This is a super popular time to propose, and little wonder. Many of us are around family and friends at this time to celebrate with; you’re FINALLY on holidays and can relax a bit; and yay, its summer, or you’ve hit the slopes in the Northern Hemisphere – or whatever floats your boat! You’re doing awesome things with the person that you want to spend the rest of your life with!

This is exactly what occurred for Jesse and Meg last summer. Jesse had bought the ring (of Meg’s choice, because she knows what she likes!) and he cooked up a plan to formally propose, or several plans actually! The iconic sunset beach proposal on their annual family holiday won the day and sealed the deal!

And I have had the incredible pleasure of writing all about it for their upcoming wedding, which will take place just over twelve months since Jesse popped The Question!

If you’re thinking about following suit, feel free to reach out once you’ve had a chance to share and celebrate your happy news, and have taken a moment to think about what you want your wedding to look and feel like!

I may also be in holiday mode in early January, but I will most definitely be happy to hear from you if you’re after a warm, engaging and progressive wedding celebrant. I will listen to what is important to you both, and specialise in delivering a very personalised ceremony – with humour and all the feels!

Now, get back to trying to focus on work for another week, and not rehearsing your proposal speech in your head. You’ve got this! And your beloved will surely love it! 🤞🤞❤💍

And I'll let you all know how Jesse and Meg’s wedding ceremony and whole day plays out! It will be absolutely beautiful and lots of fun, I am quite sure!
