HALLOWEEN SENSORY PLAY 👻

Join us for a spooky morning of Halloween-themed sensory play, potions, messy fun and plenty of opportunities for little hands to explore! 🕷️✨
📅 When: Saturday 31st October
⏰ Time: 10:00am
📍 Where: Maitland Park (near the hockey fields)

Designed for little ones aged 6 months–6 years.
Come dressed up in your spookiest costume! 🧙🏼‍♀️🦇

We often hear…

“Don’t use all of it!”
“Just a little bit.”
“Don’t mix that.”
“Do it like this.”

But our sessions are intentionally designed for exploration. For tiny hands to pour, scoop, squeeze, mix and experiment, and discover what happens along the way.

Potion play encourages curiosity, cause and effect, problem-solving and fine motor skills, all through open-ended play.

There doesn’t need to be a “right” way.

If they want to mix it all together… let them. 🫶🏽

The mess can be cleaned up. The potion can be remade. The exploring is the whole point. ✨

I don’t think you ever really realise how much this career shapes you. 🤍

The children you never forget. The families who trust you with the most important little people in their world. The tiny moments that stay with you long after the day is over.

Being an educator is so much more than what people see from the outside. It’s building relationships, being someone’s safe place, celebrating the smallest wins and getting to watch little people slowly become more and more themselves.

And somewhere along the way, we grow too.

I’m incredibly grateful for every child and family who has allowed me to be a small part of their story.

But today, I’m especially grateful for the educators who have been part of mine.

To the educators I’ve worked beside, learnt from, looked up to and been supported by…. thank you.
You have all shaped little pieces of the teacher I am today, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day. 🤍

I almost forgot this was the whole point 🤍

Slowing down over the past few months has given me the space to reflect on why I started DiscoveryDaze in the first place.

It was never about doing more or making everything perfect. It was about connection, meaningful play and creating a space for little ones and their grown-ups to simply enjoy being together without pressure.

A little reminder to come back to what matters most 🤍
