Liz and Jess's story wasn't exactly straightforward.

They met at the Royal Military College in Canberra — Jess as an instructor and Liz as a student. Not exactly the ideal environment for a romance.

But somehow, no matter what life threw at them, they always found their way back to each other.

Their ceremony at Yangaro felt a lot like their relationship.

Relaxed. Full of laughter and stories.

Stories about surprise flowers, morning coffees, dogs (who stole the show), questionable hairstyles and Jess testing Liz's patience by keeping an engagement ring hidden away for three months before finally proposing.

But amongst all the laughs, what stood out most was how much they genuinely like each other.

Not just love.

Like.

The kind of relationship where you still make each other laugh, still look for each other in a room and still feel lucky you've found your person 🤍

And a big shout-out to the bestie, who drove Indiana and Frankie (furbabies) all the way from Townsville so they could be with their favourite humans, and took them back on the same day!

This gown travelled a little further than most.

I designed and made it in Mackay before it made its way to Tuscany, Italy, for Mia’s wedding day. 🤍

Custom bridal is often thought of as layers of lace, beading and dramatic detail. But that’s not the case; every detail of this gown was designed around Mia, creating something timeless and elegant just for her.

This photograph always stops me.

Not because of the dress. Not because of the venue. Not because everything went perfectly.

Because of Sarah.

The joy in this moment is so genuine that years later, I still find myself smiling whenever I come across it.

Sarah and Reece's relationship was built on laughter, friendship and never running out of things to talk about. And honestly, their wedding day felt exactly the same.

One of the most meaningful moments came during their sand ceremony at Mantra Mackay, where they included their children in a symbolic blending of two families. It was a beautiful reminder that this day wasn't just about Sarah and Reece becoming husband and wife, but about the future they were building together.

Sarah was also one of the first brides to trust me with both her ceremony and her gown — something I will always be grateful for.

And judging by this photograph, I'd say it was a pretty happy day all round 🤍

One of the biggest misconceptions about custom bridal?

That it automatically means “expensive.”

Every bride has different priorities.

Some invest in intricate detail and dramatic structure.
Others want timeless simplicity.

That’s why my gown packages are designed around the individual bride, with transparent pricing from the beginning.

Because custom bridal shouldn’t feel intimidating before you’ve even started 🤍

Some weddings stay with you for unexpected reasons.

Freya and Reece’s was one of them.

It was a magnificent day on the edge of the river in Marian.

I was delivering the housekeeping to guests when I felt the first baby kick of my pregnancy — a particularly savage one that completely took my breath away.

But then Freya arrived, and this beautiful day unfolded so calmly and effortlessly.

Live music drifted across the river, loved ones gathered close, and Freya and Reece exchanged vows before taking part in a beautiful handfasting ritual symbolising loyalty, devotion and the binding of two lives into one.

What I remember most though, was the way they looked at each other. Completely certain. Completely at home.

One of the biggest misconceptions about custom bridal gowns?

That they’re only for brides who already know exactly what they want — or who fit the mould of a “traditional” bridal model.

In reality, custom design can be one of the most supportive and rewarding experiences for everyday women navigating the overwhelm of bridal fashion.

Because designing a gown isn’t about forcing yourself into a dress.

It’s about creating something around:
• your body
• your comfort
• your personality
• and the way you want to feel on your wedding day.

Some brides give me pages of inspiration. Others hand the reins over entirely.

Both are completely okay 🤍

You don’t need all the answers before you begin.

There’s something incredibly special about hearing from couples years after their wedding day 🤍

Not just because they remember the dress or the ceremony…
but because they remember how they felt.

Messages like this are the reason I care so deeply about creating ceremonies and gowns that feel personal, meaningful and genuinely reflective of each couple.

I remember driving home after Britney & Zach’s wedding thinking how naturally beautiful the whole day felt. 🤍

Britney looked absolutely stunning, giving subtle Elsa-from-Frozen vibes with that jaw-dropping hair. And together, they created the kind of atmosphere that reminded everyone what weddings are really about.

Their ceremony was simple, relaxed and heartfelt — which suited them perfectly. A beautiful reminder that weddings don’t need to follow a formula to feel incredibly special.

And for me personally, this wedding will always hold an extra special place in my heart, as it was the last ceremony I officiated before welcoming my second son into the world. 🤍

One of my beautiful brides encouraged me to share this part of the custom gown process.

I’ve always been a little self-conscious about sharing the sketching stage. Truthfully… I’m not the world’s greatest sketch artist.

But a bride’s sketch is the first point in the process where she gets to truly visualise her gown. So naturally, brides often wonder what happens before that final rendered sketch reaches them.

Put simply, this is the visual process I go through to interpret ideas onto a real bride.

And yes… there is absolutely something to be said for the technology that helps finish these designs and allows brides to fully appreciate the vision for their gown.

So while I may never master drawing hands… there is absolute care, thought and purpose behind every custom gown I create. 🤍

For almost a year, Gabby and Ben’s relationship existed entirely online.

Once they finally met in person, things took off in an effortless, meant-to-be sort of way.

And honestly, their wedding day felt exactly the same.

The rain threatened right up until ceremony time, only for the sun to appear the moment Gabby arrived… enter blushing bride.

There were emotional moments — including a beautiful rose ceremony honouring their mothers.

And then there were the moments that perfectly captured them… like finishing the ceremony with jelly shots surrounded by their favourite people.

A backyard wedding that somehow felt effortless, polished and deeply personal all at once 🤍

Such a beautiful couple to marry.
