About the role:
The Head Chef is responsible for managing the daily operations of the kitchen, including kitchen management, menu development and maintaining cost control. The Head Chef will supervise kitchen staff to ensure an efficient, effective and empowered team by leading, inspiring and motivating the kitchen team to achieve high quality food and delivering an excellent customer service experience.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
Qualifications
Qualified Chef or Certificate in Commercial Cookery and/or Diploma in Hospitality is essential
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is essential
First Aid Certificate is desirable
Expertise Requirements
Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Chef, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education and culinary/kitchen operations.
Interpersonal skills: Experience in dealing confidently and courteously with people at all levels, and a commitment to providing a high level of customer care.
Organising & Planning: Working collaboratively to achieve team goals, including good organisational skills, flexibility during peak periods, and being able to rapidly change priorities as needed.
You will need to provide or be willing to obtain a current National Police Records Check, a Working with Children Check, evidence of your entitlement to work in Australia, and certified copies of your qualifications.
In accordance with the recent public health announcements and the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, all appointments to Box Hill Institute will be required to provide evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination Status prior to commencing employment.
