From its origins as farming land, it has developed into one of NSW premier sporting facilities. Orana Park as it was formally known was officially opened in 1970. Campbelltown Sports Stadium since then has been host to an array of sporting teams and codes. Ranging from the West Tigers, NSW Waratahs, Sydney FC, Western Sydney Wanderers to the Australian Supercross Championships, Matildas and Olyroos. On an international scale the 2017 Asians Champions League and those from the 2017 and 2018 Pacific Test have also taken to the pitch. Campbelltown Sports Stadium will be the home base for newest A - League addition Macarthur FC in their upcoming debut in the 2020/2021 season. Campbelltown Athletics Centre as part of the Stadium hosts local level to state level athletics carnivals and the annual 24hr Relay for Life and Campbelltown Carols by Candlelight. Most recently it was the location of the inaugural Out of Bounds Festival which featured such Australian artists as Illy and the Rubens.
