Kimberley Burrell is the creative brain behind The Marmalade Sky: an eclectic floral designer, event planner and general chaos maker. Having spent over six years (and counting) producing Children’s events for the Australian broadcaster, Kimberley decided it was probably a good time to venture into the adult world of events; weddings, birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, general gatherings full o
f merriment and the occasional kids birthday party (some habits are hard to break!). After flowering her own wedding in 2014, Kimberley fell in love with early morning wake-ups and the Sydney Flower Markets. Given that most brides don’t want to wake up at 4am the morning before their big day, many of Kimberley’s friends and friends-of-friends asked her to step in and take over the flower-reins for their wedding. In 2015 Kimberley completed her Cert III in floristy. A typical day in The Marmalade Sky studio is consumed with flowers, playing with flowers, thinking about flowers, studying flowers, eating, probably napping (those 5am visits to the flower markets will get ya!), shopping online for vases and floral vintage chairs, pinterest-ing event themes & table settings, more napping, analysing the pros and cons of using gold sequins as a table runner, maybe some dinner and then bed.
