My Bathurst weekend got off to a great start … called in to see an old friend - DJR17 was looking pretty Special sitting in the Repco Store. Staff told me already the car has been so popular …. and the gates open tomorrow - thats impressive!

The sign board came up a treat … tells the story! I’ll keep my eye on it over the weekend … Dave you continue to enjoy your 4x4 weekend with the fam. The good folks at Repco are taking great care of your car.

If you’re on The Mountain this weekend - it’s well worth dropping in to the Repco store to check out the first race winner of the ATCC, way back in 1993 … what a great era!

We are very excited, the Bathurst 1000 is just around the corner … for us that also means our Legends of Motorsport Dinner is almost upon us. Pretty pump with this lineup!

Local boy Cody Burcher is a guest … what an exciting young fella he is. Sharing the stage with him is Automotive Engineer (Guru) Bernie Quinn … he has a ripper story to tell.

I dare say Stevie Johnson and Tony Quinn could fill the night with stories on their own. Both have a deep history in Motorsport - a wonderful night of fantastic stories.

There are still tix available, the link below in the comments is your entry to an awesome night at The Canobolas Hotel in Orange on Saturday 11th October. We look forward to seeing you there!

The excitement is building, we’ve taken the covers off our 2025 Targa Tasmania event - it’s a cracker! Now run November with the new route beginning in Hobart, after a couple of days around the Capitol we head north to Launceston on the east side of Tassie.

The stages out of Launceston are epic, we’ve driven them previously in 2022 when TT was last staged. I did a reccy a few weeks back to suss the Hobart Restaurant scene … now that was a difficult task … what to leave out? In the end, we are very happy with our choices.

We’ve added two amazing private car collections (rarely seen) - one in Hobart and the other in the Devonport area … these are mega! Entry in 2025 have been capped, you need to move pretty quickly … we already have a number of spots SOLD.

Our events are end to end, and include Lead Car, Driver Coaches x 3, video of your adventure, still images of your car on course. Spirit of Tassie transfers (cabin), all accommodation/meals - you meet like minded car folks who share the love of driving on ‘Closed Roads’ (amazing) … we’ve delivered plenty of Targa’s - we guarantee you’ll be blown away!

Dates: 13th/23rd November. Full details in the first comment.

We had an awesome day on Sunday on our Southern Loop Drive Day … a great group of happy/smiling familiar faces - who doesn’t enjoy great a great day with likeminded friends?

The day was the work of my buddy Andrew McKellar, he built the route and added a number of interesting stops along the way. As is the case, Andrew did the work … and I took the credit!

His road selection gave our people a fun/spirited driving over many low traffic roads / local knowledge I’m sure played a big part on his course selection. Many great points of interest including the Thirlmere Railway Museum with lunch at the Bundanoon Hotel.

We finished our day at the family run Joadja Vineyard in Berrima, they had some beautiful wines and were very warm and hospitable - their cheese platter was sensational. We will certainly be back - I’m keen to have another drive day during winter before our busy season is upon us!

Keep an eye out for our next road drive … we’ve got a few to choose from, we’d love to have you join us … these are not brand specific - bring what you love! See you soon …

We figured it’s a fantastic time of the year to hang out with friends and create a Drive Day. My buddy Andrew McKellar is responsible for the heavy lifting on this one - his route, stops, luncheon destination and he’ll even do the chat about the points of interest throughout the day!

I’m liking this lots … the luncheon destination is limited on capacity … so therefore are we. I encourage you to Register - this is a NO Cost event other than your own breakfast/lunch and Train Museum entry. Come n join us a ripper day. We will run the event again, we currently hold a number of registrations … if we fill this one - we’ll run it again!

Full details and registration link are in the comments below … I look forward to seeing you guys next Sunday. Cheers Hammo

What an awesome weekend of racing at SMSP - the categories that interested me were GT4/GT3 and the Ferrari Challenge. I have a number of friends Racing GT3/4 … it’s closest in terms of real cars!

In the end (i GT4) it became a battle between ol stagers George M and Timmy L with their young drivers Rylan and Cody doing a fine job.

I want to mention a young lass - Summer Rintoule … that’s her in the white race suit on the podium (third) - she was pointed out to me by ARDC Board Member/Toyota 86 Admin - Phil Harrison (an awesome fountain of Motorsport knowledge). Summer drove the wheels of her Benz (with her drive partner young fella Hughes). She’s just 18 years old with the world at her feet, super smart and a wonderful young lady with a beaming smile and very supportive parents (as it needs to be).

The drive of the weekend goes to Jayden Ojeda in the Benz GT3 … he blazed through the field in both races passing quite a few big names with ease. Those in the know will tell you - he’s a future star. I was recently introduced to him - he’s very humble and certainly a class act - well done Champ!

My buddie/s Chris Reeves is the Ferrari Cat Manager while Chris Gough is the Tecnical Chief … both heading up our Targa Tasmania event in November. It was grest to watch these guys do their thing - pretty special cars!

The other, the Mustang Dark Horse R Category (one make category) kicks off in 2026 … pretty cool looking cars!

I thought it was a good crowd and the racing was exciting - bring on more!

Cheers Hammo
