We’re excited to be heading to Meanjin with DJAWARRAY for Sounds Like Community Radio, presented by 4ZZZ and AMRAP , on Wednesday 2 September during BIGSOUND 2026.

You’ll find us in the 4ZZZ Car Park, alongside some deadly Australian artists, sharing an afternoon of music, culture and community ✊🏿🔥

For Mayi Wunba, this is more than an opportunity. This is our legacy in motion. Every dance carries the footsteps of those who came before us and creates footprints for those who will follow. This is culture being lived, shared and passed from one generation to the next 👣

To be taking our culture to BIGSOUND alongside Djawarray means so much to our dancers, our families and our community. It’s another opportunity to stand proudly in who we are and continue the work that Mayi Wunba has been doing for more than 40 years ✨🙌🏿

We’ve got some exciting news…⚡️⚡️⚡️

Djawarray, the deadly reggae. and the Mayi Wunba Dance Troupe have been selected to attend BIGSOUND 2026, Australia’s premier music industry event 🎸🥁🪇

This is an incredible opportunity to share Djabugay and Western Yalanji culture through music, dance, language, and storytelling with people from across Australia and around the world 🪃🔥

Getting there, however, comes with significant costs. Flights, accommodation, transport, meals, and bringing a cultural performance of this scale to life all add up.
