Years ago, when I was training to becoming a celebrant, I had to film a series of mock ceremonies as part of my official assessment. So naturally, I turned to two of the most game, big-hearted legends I know — Jen and Jonesy who brought every fictional love story to life.
But last week in Wanaka, we finally did it for real. No characters. No mock script. Just two beautiful humans choosing each other—with their incredible, blended family around them, and a love story that’s been years in the making. Nothing but two of my dearest friends, surrounded by family, pledging forever with full hearts and one perfect take.
Their love story spans rugby sidelines and motorbike rides to a pontoon proposal and a love that grew out of genuine love, loss, friendship and renewed beginnings— Jen and John, your story is one for the ages.
Thank you for letting me walk every wild, wonderful step with you in this commitment ceremony for marriage . This one was worth the wait. I love you both so much xx
