Wedding trends are always changing and evolving. Patterns are one of those trends and this includes table settings, invites and other decorations.
Pick a pattern that you can use/incorporate from start to end for your big day. However, do not over do it regarding patterns.

Wedding trends are always changing and evolving. In 2023, the trends that we can see are:

• More colours and this includes brides opting for colourful wedding dresses, mixed matched bridemaids and decor. This allows the colours to be bold, fun, creative, statement pieces and sophisticated.

• Maximalist wedding is becoming a big trend for 2023. It is about over the top and luxurious details. This could be the result of having wedding limitations during covid lockdowns.

• Custom made dance floors. Anything these days can be made into a dance floor.

• A private last dance for the happy couple. This is a trend that is becoming more and more popular

• Turning regular aisle into a statement piece. This allows the bride and groom to get as creative and think outside of the regular aisle options.

• Sustainability is a big trend with environmental friendly products/materials locations and transportation

Confetti at weddings or any other events has been around for decades. However, these day many venues ban confetti because it can harm the environment and it is also time consuming to clean up.

If your venue does allow confetti, look at your environmentally friendly options. A way of making confetti environmentally friendly confetti is by making your own confetti from leaves. Yes, it is time consuming but if you use leaves you collect around your backyard or from fallen leaves from the street or local park, it is extremely cost effective. All you will need is a double or a single holepunch or even a heart shaped holepunch, a container or something to place them in until the big day. If you are worried that it is time consuming, get your family and/or friends to help you.

I know that there are companies out there that sells leaf confetti for a fortune but if you are up for the challenge of doing it yourself, do it as it not only will save you money but it will also be better for the environment.

Remember this is just an average cost. You don't have to spend that amount.

Apart for deciding on your wedding date, venues and wedding dress, deciding on your colour palette is an important decision. Over the years, wedding colour palettes have changed and in 2022, the on trend colour palettes consists of:

1. Different shades of green
For example green foliage décor, emerald green as it can give a fairytale romance illusion, sage for a rustic earthy feel; mint for a pastel look, jade for sophisticated look or you have lime or olive colour choices.

2. Different shades of purple
For example plum works well with grey and gold, violet works well with shades of blue and green. Mauve is usually paired with natural earthy tones, whilst amethyst is a bold colour is paired with black deep grey usually and finally lavender which is often used in spring for its softness and elegance.

3. Black
Using black within your colour palette can set a very bold, elegant, dramatic and moody tone for the wedding. Black can be paired with other deep, muted colours, such as navy, burgundy and mauve to achieve a gorgeous and edgy look.

4. Dusty rose
For a very soft complementary look pairing with the dusty rose palette, try pairing with neutral colours, apricot, blush pink or light grey. Gold decorations and centrepieces are a good choice to be paired with dusty rose as it brings out the elegance and look glamour look.

5. Different shades of blue
For example sky blue is used mostly in autumn and summer weddings. It can be paired with soft yellow and white tones. Navy works well with a rustic style wedding and can be paired with burgundy, green, metallic gold, grey, mint and warmer colours. Royal blue is good for winter weddings and is very elegant and sophisticated, turquoise is good when paired with mango colour, burnt orange and olive; dusty blue is soft and romantic, teal can be paired with warmer tones such as brown which will create a fresh and fun feeling.

6. Mustard yellow
This colour palette goes well with the Boho Chic style. This colour is modern and is great for autumn weddings. Mustard yellow is generally paired with brown, grey or navy. It can also be paired with foliage to give it a sense of botanical celebration.

7. Rustic colours
Burnt orange, teal, burgundy, navy, brown, mustard yellow, rust, emerald, lavender, terracotta and sage colours fall under this the rustic colour palette.
