The cutest thing I experienced in this shop began with a phone call I missed!
It was already one of those weeks. Motherโs Day week. The shop was full, flower deliveries were missing, and we had more pre-orders than ever before. It felt beautifully chaotic.
On Tuesday the flower phone rang as I was with a customer. As I went to check it only minutes later I realised I couldn't call them back like I normally do. It was a call from a private number.
I shrugged it off thinking 'it's probably a scammer or something'. Boy was I wrong!!
THANKFULLY, the phone rang again. 'Private Number' displayed on the screen as it was before when I missed it.
It was a mum, a lovely mum. She wanted to organise a mother's day gift for her daughter.
On the phone she mentioned that she'd love to get her daughter something sweet in addition to some flowers. It was perfect, because as you know - the bakery is basically next door.
Without thinking I walked out of the shop and into the bakery. Still chatting on the phone I described all the amazing delicious sweets I could get from the bakery.
She decided on a chocolate mud cake.
A few days later and the bakery had made a beautiful fresh mud cake. It was decorated in the gorgeous pink I knew the daughter loved.
Today, her daughter came in to collect it.
As I handed over the flowers and B showed her the cake, her face lit up.
Such a beautiful reminder that sometimes what we do here is so much more than flowers.
Itโs helping people show love, even from afar. ๐ธ
