I spent yesterday morning filming on the Burrup and on the way home, around the Hearson Cove turn off, I noticed feathers flying as cars travelled towards me. Three galahs had been struck. I understand it's often hard to stop sometimes and I get that's an insane road.

I was able to turn around and go back to scoop up the injured birds. One died after I picked her up, the other two I took to Rose Best.

It took all of 15 minutes of my time to pick them up and deliver them to Rose.

Sadly only one has survived.

What saddened me is that this happens to our wildlife daily.

I travel the Burrup and NWC highway often and I stop to take dead kangaroos, emus, eagles and goats off the road to save the prey birds from bring mowed down and wrap injured joeys and birds to be given to carers in the next town.

So many times I see the female kangaroo skittled and not far from her, her joey meeting the same fate.

Please take the time to stop safetly and help an animal in distress.

There's a saying that comes to mind.

You can tell alot about a person by the way they treat animals.

Even the smallest of little beings deserves a chance.
