Mykaela and Mark knew just what they wanted for their cake design, but I still managed to surprise them: “Thank you thank you!!!! Our cake was everything we wanted and more! We got absolutely rave reviews on how amazing it was!! The only downside was that I didn’t get to eat any 😂 I was so busy dancing and our guests enjoyed it so much they ate the whole thing!!” - never fear, M and M want me to make a smaller one for them at a later date so they really can enjoy it with family and friends! White and green ganache, with the gorgeous Harvest stencil, and a cascade of fresh blooms from their wedding florist . Caramel vanilla latte soaked with salted caramel sauce and with the same infused through Italian meringue buttercream top tier, my own succulent Red Velvet paired with classic vanilla Ermine buttercream for the mid tier and light vanilla cake with thick raspberry coulis and vanilla Italian meringue buttercream base tier.

Velvet colours are my absolute favourite 🔥and they pair so well with gold. A small but decadent two tier white ganache cake for May and Matt, with a bit of texture to the base tier for some added interest. Janita knew just what I wanted for this cake even more that I did! Lemon curd/ white chocolate top tier and fudgy dark chocolate mud, dark chocolate ganache and homemade thick raspberry coulis for the base tier. I was so pleased with variety of colours the provided for me to blend the colour at the base. You can ‘water’ these down with rose spirit as much as you like to create a beautiful watercolour effect - looking forward to playing more with these on white ganache 😍. This reception was at the top of a long, steep, bumpy gravel driveway which gave me a few little panics, but oh the view at the top! High above Clifton Beach, you could see for miles!

A velvety beauty for Marni and David x I have now made the wedding cakes for three girls in this family - plus a bridal shower, and quite a few birthday cakes and Share Cakes - I am so grateful to the greater Hyland family for their support of my small business! Again, my most popular flavour lemon white chocolate mud and lemon curd with vanilla Italian meringue buttercream for the base tier and Soft Vanilla Caramel Latte layered with oozy homemade salted espresso caramel sauce swirled through silky Italian meringue buttercream for the top tier. Due to having three wedding cakes to deliver on this particular Saturday, I employed my dear Dad to carefully deliver Marni and David’s cake - my very first employee! He packed it so carefully in his car and drove like he was transporting the Queen 😂😂 But he wouldn’t accept any more than a hug and a kiss as payment 😘. (Looking forward to when we are allowed to hug you again Dad!). The sad thing for me is not being able to see the amazing set up by at the venue! The beautiful Janita providing stunning rich coloured blooms for the wedding and for the cake - always love a quick chat and a laugh with you Janita, and you are so careful to choose the sweetest flowers for me 😘

BANANA!!!! I do feel for the 3-8 year olds having birthdays right now - so hard for them to understand that on this one day of the year, that they so look forward to, they aren’t allowed to share their joy at growing one whole year older, in the presence of their special friends and families. So if I can raise a smile and help to make some memories, to mark the occasion, I think that is an essential service, don’t you? My last minion cake was actually the very first ‘paid’ cake that I ever did! Way back in 2015! A LOT has happened since then 😉😂. Happy 3rd Birthday Flynn!! 🍌🍌

I’m getting into the swing of this ‘slowness’. Less than 4 weeks ago I was frantically organising three wedding cakes and one birthday cake for one weekend and now . . . nothing . . . I am so very fortunate that we are in such as position that my business can hibernate and I can hit the ground running when we can again celebrate our lives and loves ❤️. In the meantime, I can fill up my IG feed with all the cakes I haven’t gotten around to posting! This was my last wedding cake - Helen and Brett just got in before weddings were pretty much officially cancelled. Sooooo far behind in showing you guys my work of late! I think there is a direct inverse correlation between how busy I am in the kitchen and how frequently I post to socials! Being slap bang in the busiest part of wedding season, lately I have been having heaps of fun realising my couples wedding cake designs, such individuality and unique ideas for me to create from 🥰. But for norm here were my last set of Share Cakes - snapped up as quickly as normal, I can’t keep up with demand for these! Looking to do another bunch for the June long weekend (too many weddings and a truck load of quotes to get any done before then!). If you would like to pre-book for June 6th - hit me up with a DM 😃. Fresh whites and greens from the wonderful - so lucky to be playing with her flowers! Yummy cake of course - some light vanilla sponge, some tasty light chocolate cake, throw in some zesty lemon curd and smooth, thick raspberry filling all wrapped in vanilla Italian buttercream silkiness 🍦just like warm vanilla ice cream on your tongue 😋!

A beautiful peaceful venue for Nicole and Rhys ❤️ 🍃. This lovely couple asked me to make their engagement cake too, loved it so much that they asked for the same flavour for their wedding cake - Black Forest! Fudgy Dark Chocolate Mud, smooth, real cherry filling, soft ganache and silky vanilla Italian meringue buttercream, and another tier with the very popular succulent Lemon-Zest Infused White Chocolate Mud layered with homemade zesty lemon curd and the same delicious vanilla Italian meringue buttercream. Finished in a semi-naked style and gold leaf to echo the cascade of florals from Glen Albyn x I love how the light in that room made the gold leaf glow ✨!
