I just wanted to share a little update in case you weren’t aware...

The laws around photographing children for promotional purposes in Australia are changing this September.

Photography & Privacy Policy

Why We Have This Policy

At Fantasy Faces By Sonia children’s safety, privacy, and dignity always come first. We love sharing the joy of face painting, but only when parents feel comfortable.

With new Australian child safety and privacy laws becoming stricter, we are now legally required to gain clear permission from a parent or legal guardian before taking or sharing photos of children. This policy explains how we do that in a way that is safe, respectful, and compliant.

Giving Consent

• I only take photos of children if their parent or legal guardian AND the child themselves have given permission in person.

• Consent is collected in writing through a short form (digital or paper). If needed

• Parents and guardians are always free to change their mind later. They just need to let me know and I’ll update my records straight away.

How We Use Photos

• Photos may be used for Fantasy Faces By Sonia for promotion, such as on social media, our website gallery, or printed materials.

• Photos will never show children in unsafe, upsetting, or inappropriate situations.

Security

• While i may use trusted third-party services (such as professional printers) to create marketing materials, your child’s image will never be sold, licensed, or intentionally shared for anyone else’s use.

• Photos are deleted when they’re no longer needed.

Changing Your Mind

• If you withdraw consent, we will remove your child’s photo from our website and social media as quickly as possible.
