With deep regret Hidden Garden is now officially closed.
This decision to close, was due to circumstances out side of our control.
We have now had time to obtain replies from couples with their decision as to how they wish to proceed with refunds or with other options discussed.
We have had meetings with relevant professionals that manage the dissolving of a business and we can advise from those meetings we will become insolvent and assets liquidated to address refunds.
The process is a legal and statutory arrangements and we will be cooperating fully to see that the process is quickly performed and payment made. The company is in the process of being handed over to be liquidated, and we will no longer have the control of the former business or the disbursement of refunds.
The collapse of Hidden Garden Estate was completely unexpected and our first notification of this was brought to our awareness on last Thursday afternoon.
The authority initiating stringent terms that effectively caused couples to vote for refunds, has forced us to close the business. The authority was unwilling to grant any time or variation to existing permit conditions. We tried to obtain some concession from the local authority to support existing weddings, but our request was not accepted.
We do believe the action to not allow any concession was grossly unreasonable. We pointed out the catastrophe that would be faced by couples now being unable to hold their wedding at Hidden Garden Estate, but no concession was granted. We have had to close our successful business, a passion of love and our only source of income. A loss to the Glenorchy City precinct and to the many people from all over the State of Tasmania and from other countries
With deep regret and sadness, Hidden Garden Estate is now officially closed.
