Northern Tasmania’s business events industry is continuing to evolve.

With the planned Northern Convention Centre, Launceston’s future event capacity is expected to increase to 650 delegates, creating new opportunities for larger conferences and events in the region.

It’s another sign of how Tasmania’s business events capability continues to grow, while still offering the distinctive experiences the state is known for.

There’s something memorable about encountering wildlife that only exists here.

In Tasmania, experiences with the natural world become part of the broader delegate
journey, from native wildlife encounters to moments that create a stronger connection to the destination itself.

It’s part of what makes business events in Tasmania feel distinctly different from anywhere else in Australia.

Some experiences change the energy around an event entirely.

Along Tasmania’s rugged coastline, delegates can move through towering sea cliffs, hidden caves and open water landscapes that feel vastly removed from the pace of everyday city environments.

Experiences like these create a stronger sense of perspective, helping people slow down, reconnect and experience the destination in a completely different way.

Why do organisers keep coming back to Tassie?

Because here, the experience feels personal.

Across Tasmania, the people bring genuine passion, local knowledge and pride to every interaction.

It’s not just about showcasing a venue. It’s about sharing the stories, people and places that make each experience feel authentic.

For delegates, that means more than attending an event. It means feeling welcomed by locals and discovering the inside story of Tasmania.

It’s part of what makes business events in Tasmania feel genuinely different.

There’s something about Tasmania that brings people back to what matters.

Maybe it’s the landscape. Maybe it’s the pace. Maybe it’s the feeling of stepping away from constant noise and distraction.

For delegates, that sense of grounding becomes part of the experience, creating space for clearer thinking, better conversations and more meaningful connection.

Winter in Tasmania is not something to work around. For business events, it can be a creative advantage.

Our latest story explores how Tasmania’s Off Season can elevate conferences, incentives and corporate programs through richer seasonal experiences, more intimate maker connections and winter-only moments that delegates will remember.

Think fireside whisky tastings, slow food feasts, truffle hunting, glow tours, winter festivals and conversations with the people behind Tasmania’s food, drink and creative culture.

Discover how to turn the Off Season into the main event.
