BET's CEO Marnie Craig was proud to join partners and government leaders at today’s launch of Hobart Airport's runway upgrade, celebrating a significant leap forward for Lutruwita/Tasmania’s economy and global links.

The upgrade unlocks the ability for Tassie to welcome larger aircraft, such as the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787. For business events, this means easier and greater international access, more freight capacity and better opportunities to connect event delegates with our island's world‑class experiences.

A big congratulations to Hobart Airport for delivering this huge project for Tassie! ✈️

A big thank you to all our members who joined us for last night’s special session—and a special shoutout to Hobart Airport for their generous support.

Marnie and Krystal are back and hitting the ground running post IMEX Frankfurt.

It was a successful international trip for our duo representing Tasmania at IMEX Frankfurt and through targeted meetings in Singapore.

During the trip, they met with 25 companies from 14 countries, generating valuable leads and reinforcing Tasmania’s position as a compelling destination for international business events and incentive travel.

In the weeks ahead, we’ll be building on these new relationships, refining our marketing efforts, and supporting your engagement with the international incentive market. Notably, interest from the Asian market is particularly strong, presenting exciting opportunities for future growth.

To help unpack insights from this recent trip, we’re hosting a July member event with travel expert Sonja Soderbom, who’ll share how we can better position Tasmania as a leading incentive destination. Sonja is a powerhouse in the international incentive space and has over 20 years’ experience delivering award-winning programs across the globe. Be on the lookout for an invite to this event in the coming weeks.

BET's charity partner, Variety the Children's Charity TAS, is hosting the 4th annual Spin4Kids on Saturday 5 July - and we're calling on members to pull together their own teams to pedal across 5 hours, and help Variety raise $30,000 for Tassie kids at risk of falling through the gaps.

Spin4Kids is five-hour spin bike team challenge that draws over 3,000 spectators and brings the community together to support Tassie kids. Expect a day full of high-energy music, crazy costumes, and constant motivation from a team of dedicated spin instructors – all thanks to All Aerobics Fitness and 7HOFM.
