Red Phoenix Theatre Concludes Residency with Holden Street Theatres.
After a highly successful nine-year residency with Holden Street Theatres, Red Phoenix Theatre is standing down as a resident theatre company to embark on a new journey. During this remarkable partnership, the two organisations collaborated to deliver 21 highly acclaimed productions, earning the praise of audiences and critics alike. These productions garnered numerous nominations and awards from the Adelaide Critics Circle, the Theatre Association of South Australia, and the Adelaide Theatre Guide, cementing Red Phoenix Theatre's reputation as a leading force in South Australian community theatre.
Libby Drake, Artistic Director of Red Phoenix Theatre, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, saying, “We are grateful to Martha Lott and Holden Street Theatres for the opportunity to work with them to grow Red Phoenix Theatre from its inception through its formative years.”
Red Phoenix Theatre will take a hiatus in 2025, using the time to reflect on their many achievements and develop a refreshed structure and vision for the future. Plans are already underway for an exciting relaunch at a new venue in 2026, promising a bold new chapter for the company while honouring its legacy of delivering exceptional theatre experiences.
