A morning walk through the paddocks of Barunah Plains. In its prime, Barunah Plains was one of the largest sheep stations in Victoria, with over 50,000 merino sheep on 51,000 acres before being reduced by soldier settlement in 1946.
We love the Barunah history.

Restoring the homestead has been a massive task over the years. There is always something to be done. Luckily over the years each owner has taken their part in maintaining and restoring it. This window is a perfect example. In the 1960’s the right hand side of these windows were taken out to create a doorway out to fibro outhouse. Lucky for us the original windows were stored in a shed, the outhouse was removed and windows were reinstated.

It’s amazing how something that’s been quietly sitting up on the stable roof for years can look so stunning once restored. While the boom lift was onsite for another job, it was the perfect opportunity to take the ornate roof vents down from the top of the stables and restore them back to their former glory. What an outcome 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. They were a lot bigger than we thought once on the ground but the perfect passion project. They are now positioned back up ready to last another 150 years!
