HAWKESBURY BUSINESS AWARDS IS CANCELLED FOR 2026
After 7 years of running successful networking, expos, conferences and 4 awards seasons, we have made the decision to close the Hawkesbury Business Events brand.

Through our events, we have seen:
- Networking across the entire region including Colo, Bilpin, Grose Vale and Pitt Town.
- Sole traders in remote towns and with family responsibilities make lasting friendships and business connections.
- Our local businesses educated about many topics including legal compliance with trading names registered as a result.
- Local businesses that many didn’t know existed become the talk of the town.
- Celebration of what makes us the Hawkesbury as a community and an economic powerhouse.
- So many other positive things, we can not list them all here.

Our whole team are proud of these achievements. This brand was started out of a passion to promote all our region has to offer and achieve the things we have listed. But we now need to assess the time and financial cost running this brand takes, so that our company, Prismatic Group, is sustainable into the future. This brand does not make a profit, that was never the goal and the cost has been significant.

We have no regrets, we did our best and we did it for the right reasons. But we have received ongoing public criticism that has also taken a toll on our team.

So we are retiring this brand and focusing on our core business through prismaticgroupau providing lighting and audio, plus Reliable Event & Styling Hire. We will also be running our other events brands including The BIG Bush Dance, Nomad Festival and others we will be announcing over the coming weeks.

The Hawkesbury is our home, the majority of our team live here and our head office remains in South Windsor. We are not leaving, just refocusing on our business that provides local employment opportunities.

Thank you as well to everyone who shared our posts, attended our events or presented at our conferences. Every contribution builds a community and we appreciate you all.

On the corner of the shops, is a unique shop that locals have come to love. Nina's Pre loved Goods has become a local landmark, with Nina regularly sitting out the front ready for a chat and to help you find what you are looking for.

It is an Aladdin’s cave of wonders, full of various items that are looking for their next home. Clothing, art, furniture, bags, crockery and so much more is on offer at very reasonable prices. Nina has a big heart ❤️ , so started the store to give locals a chance to go shopping without needing a big bank balance. Nina is passionate about community and people supporting people to work together for the greater good.

Nina has even expanded, with a book shop in the arcade around the corner. She also works with other local organisations, like Hawkesbury's Helping Hands that occasionally drop off extra food or you can pick up a copy of Hills to Hawkesbury Community news.

Hawkesbury Remakery is a place like no other, found tucked away in the Windsor Mall. It is not just a store, it is an experience, where you can see the weird, wonderful and cute extremes of how waste can be made into art.

The Remakery was started by Liz and Sharon with the dream of reducing landfill and inspiring the community to rethink what art is and how it can be made. This simple idea has birthed a large community of makers and a following of many eager supporters and shoppers.

They are winners for their not-for-profit works and commitment to the community. They offer a repair cafe to fix broken items and are the home of boomerang bags in the Hawkesbury.

The remakers come from all walks of life and work in various forms from metal and sculpture to traditional crafts. Within their store you will find not only a gallery where you can purchase a unique local art piece or many, but workshops and a preloved goods / materials cave.

So if you are looking for community, socialising or some unique artwork, while supporting a good cause, visit Liz and the volunteers at Hawkesbury Remakery, where there is always something new and exciting to see.

Karu Distillery is a brand that every person should be proud to know. Winners of many awards internationally and multiple times, they have been recognised as rising stars around the world.

Nick and Ally have an undeniable passion for their craft and choose to build their brand in Grose Vale, with orchards for their ingredients, distillery and a cellar door that is open for boutique tasting events. They also work with other local businesses including Gypsy-Fox Brewing Co. and they produced a special line of gin to raise awareness and funds for cheetahs 🐆 with Wild Cat Conservation Centre. They are humble about their achievements and their team can still be found at local food markets on weekends.

✨We are Hawkesbury Business Events and since 2019 we have run events all over the Hawkesbury to inspire, innovate and grow our business community. Our events have included Hawkesbury Business Week networking, expos, conferences and the Hawkesbury Business Awards, with many events free to attend. We do what we do for love of our community, not profit, but sponsorship is always welcome to help cover our costs.
