Hey everyone. For those that are new around here, welcome. I’m Toni 😊

With a fresh year and a lot of newly engaged faces popping up, I thought I’d do a proper little hello and share a few things about me that aren’t all wedding related.

I have an unhealthy Pepsi Max addiction. Always have, probably always will. Zero regrets.
And if there’s a bowl of chocolate-covered sultanas nearby, I will absolutely be involved.

Fun fact from my childhood. In place of normal sports, I was a competitive ten-pin bowler growing up. Very serious stuff at the time. These days, a strike is rare. I did once have a bridesmaid recognise me from my bowling days though, which was a wild throwback I did not see coming.

I have a few quirks. I wear shoes all the time. Inside, outside, as I’m writing this… always. Unless I’m sleeping. I don’t love anything touching my feet.
That said, once I find a pair of shoes I like, I wear them into the ground. Introducing new shoes into my rotation is a whole process.

I’m also a mum. I have a 13-year-old daughter, Kiana, which often surprises people. I was a pretty young mum, and everyone keeps warning us about the teenage girl attitude, but so far she’s still very nice to us. Fingers crossed that lasts as long as possible.
And I have a 10-year-old son, Tayo, who is absolutely convinced you’ll see him on TV one day. He’s determined to be a professional AFL player, which means a lot of training, a lot of running around, and very full afternoons.

Outside of weddings, I’m a total early bird. Between kids’ schedules, sport, dance, and family life, an early night is something I treasure more than I probably should.

And yes, I am a celebrant. I love what I do. I love meeting couples, telling their stories, and being part of such a big moment in their lives. But at the end of the day, I’m just a normal human who likes organised plans, relaxed vibes, and a good laugh along the way.

If you’re newly engaged and finding your feet in all things wedding planning, I’m really glad you’re here šŸ¤

Wowee. What a year.
I’ve been lucky enough to stand alongside so many incredible couples and celebrate some truly special moments.
One final wedding on New Year’s Eve and then that’s a wrap for the year.
Merry Christmas šŸ¤

The take it in moment šŸ¤
This is something I always talk to my couples about during our planning meeting.

Right at the very start of the ceremony, I say hi to everyone, thank them for coming but before we dive into anything else, I invite the couple to pause, take a breath, turn around together and actually look at everyone who’s shown up for them.

It’s totally optional. If the idea of turning around makes you think, ā€œnah, not for me,ā€ that’s absolutely fine. But for so many couples, it becomes one of their favourite little moments.

You lock eyes walking down the aisle.
You spend most of the ceremony focused on each other.
And sometimes it isn’t until you sit down to sign the paperwork that it hits you and you think, ā€œOh wow… this is what it looks like.ā€

This moment brings that feeling forward.
A deep breath.
A smile.
At least 1 awkward little wave from your loved ones.
And a chance to soak it all in before the day flies by šŸ¤

When it comes to vows, take a page from Annie and Ben’s book. Just enjoy the moment! If you’re not feeling the whole public vow vibe, you can always write each other a letter or have a quiet, private moment instead. But if you’re sharing those vows in front of everyone, have a blast with it just like these two did.

And if the idea of writing vows feels a bit daunting, don’t stress. When you have me as your celebrant, you get my vow guide and of course me to help you every step of the way ā¤ļø

Nat and Tyler, standing together ready to begin ā¤ļø

There’s always a pause here.
The music has stopped.
The walk is done.
Everyone is settled.
And then it’s just the two of you at the front of the room.

It’s in this moment that everything becomes real.
Not the planning or the to-do lists or the conversations leading up to it.
Just the two of you choosing each other again.

This was one of those ceremonies where you could feel how steady and genuine their love is.
Calm. Certain. Full of care.

Such a beautiful beginning šŸ¤

What a way to start the day! What a notification to receive, ticking over the 500+ five-star review mark on ABIA… I had to take a moment with that one 🄰

Every wedding, every ceremony, every couple I’ve had the honour to stand alongside has shaped this. It’s the laughter, the eye-contact, the quiet squeeze of the hand, the ā€œokay, let’s do thisā€ breath before we walk in, that’s what I carry with me.

To every couple who has taken the time to leave a review… truly, thank you. It might seem like a simple online thing, but it’s those reviews that help other couples find me, and it means I get to keep doing what I love, creating a ceremony that feels like you.

It’s an absolute privilege to be part of these days. I don’t take it for granted.

Here’s to the next 500 love stories, and all the magic moments still to come!

When it came time for the personal vows, I gave my usual little cue:
ā€œAlright Nat and Tyler, it’s vow time.ā€

Now usually I get a deep breath… maybe a nervous grin… occasionally a tiny ā€œoh no.ā€

But Nat?
Nat just went ā€œYay!ā€
And honestly, it was iconic.

Because vows don’t have to feel intense or serious if that’s not you.
They can be light, warm, a bit funny, a bit real.
They can sound like the way you actually talk to each other on a Tuesday at home.

And the way Tyler looked at her while she read them?
That said everything.

More vows that feel like you, always šŸ¤
