Seventeen years together and then… just like that, & John got hitched on a beach in Kingscliff. No guests. No fuss. Just the two of them, behind the lens, my mate as a witness—and me, absolutely beaming like I’d won the love lottery. The sand was between our toes, the sun was doing its golden hour thing & we smiled so hard our faces hurt. And honestly? Whether it’s a full-blown festival wedding with 400 guests or an elopement with just the seagulls watching—I’m bringing this energy. Every. Single. Time. Why you might ask? Because this job lights me up..it starts in my heart & goes all the way to my toes!. And making magic with couples like this? Well, that’s the best feeling in the world. If you’re planning a big party or sneaking away for something simple and sweet—I'd love to be the one standing beside you, making it official (and fun AF too) .

CYCLONE ALFRED WASN'T STOPPING THIS WEDDING: The original plan? A beautiful sunrise elopement on the beach with just Taryn & Wades' immediate family watching on. Later that day, at Taryn’s 40th birthday party, they were going to surprise everyone with the news: they’d tied the knot that morning — the ultimate double celebration.
Everything was set to happen on 09.03.25… & then Cyclone Alfred gatecrashed the party. Flights from NZ were cancelled or postponed, the beach was destroyed, roads became too risky & Taryn had to make the heartbreaking call to cancel her 40th birthday bash. But one thing was certain — she was getting married BUT not without her nearest and dearest. By 10.03.25, important family members from NZ had made it to the GC, so on 11.03.25, with the ocean still wild & the beach off-limits, these two legends said I do on the balcony — with sunshine, sea breeze, and all the love. 💛 After 23 years together & four beautiful kids, not even a cyclone could stop them. And honestly? It was perfect. Taryn & Wade — thank you for trusting to bring your dream day to life in any way we could manage! And thank you for the last-minute balcony heroics.

WTAF? This week can get in the bin. 🔥🗑
BDM (the government authority we register marriages with) decided to change the way we log into their system. No biggie—except they gave us very specific instructions to follow so we avoid any issues once the change went live. I followed every step like a good little celebrant… and still couldn’t log in when the change happened last Monday.
After hours (and hours… and hours) on hold, their solution? Cancel my old account and make me start from scratch. Yep—every wedding I’ve ever registered? Gone. Every upcoming ceremony? Wiped. All that data? I get to re-enter it, manually.
So no ‘love is in the air’ vibes from me today—just rage, tech fails, and a very large glass of wine. Back to weddings tomorrow though, thank goodness. At least love never lets me down like public service IT.

Some things are worth the wait… ✨💍🌊
& Phoenix were supposed to be married on March 7th, but good old Cyclone Alfred had other plans. 😔....so they postponed their wedding day for 3 weeks....& went through the uncertainty, the reschedules, and the will-the-weather-ever-give-us-a-break? moments.
And finally, with their closest family and friends, after 14 years together, three beautiful kids and a love story that started back in high school – they FINALLY did it. With the team, they said 'I do' on the beach in Miami. Even though the sky threatened rain (& even delivered a little right at the start), the dodgy weather never once dampened their spirits. Why? Well, when you’ve already built a lifetime of love, a little rain is nothing. ☔✨
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Anscombe, what an afternoon we had! 🎉

BEST MAN, BEST MATE, BEST PHOTO: I married .josh & Jasmine on 26.10.24 & what a celebration it was! We had every possible emotion happening that day: laughter, tears, practical joking & a whole swag of love! I thought the boys in Josh's wedding party were awesome (& Josh's son was one) & pretty hilarious: especially his BM Geoff. I mean, you could tell he & Josh got up to a lot of shenanigans together, but when they had a little serious moment before the ceremony, it was priceless. Geoff was stoked for his mate marrying the love of his life & this emotion captured so beautifully by the awesome . Find a wedding photographer who can catch these moments because a picture can really say 1000 words.

REGISTRY OFFICE WEDDINGS ON THE BEACH: Our English groom John met his beautiful Turkish bride Ash in Sydney in 2014.  It took a very long time for John to pop the question (8 years!) but once he did, Ash's family were hell-bent on having a big wedding extravaganza at Ash's home in Turkey.  As Ash & John now call the GC home, it was important for them to make sure their marriage was legally recognized in Australia, as their Turkish wedding would not be...that's where I came in.  We met up, did the paperwork & a month later, had a simply beautiful (and fun) ceremony in my very favourite place ever .  Despite being a 'registry office' style ceremony, Ash & John went all out!  It was fabulous...& then used the services of  to capture some gorgeous shots afterwards.  So don't travel up the to have a registry office wedding in a sterile space at the QLD office in Brisbane CBD.  Find a pretty place & let's get you hitched in the most simple & stress free way.

TAHLIA & JAKE'S SECRET WEDDING: helped & Jake get married on 21.10.24 BUT it was all very hush hush! You see, these two just wanted to tie the knot with only their immediate family present, so didn't want to tell the rest of the world until their 'engagement' party in January 2025 (OMG, such a long time to keep a secret)...but their marriage reveal two weeks ago went off beautifully, so I can FINALLY share their story with you. Tahlia & Jake’s love story started in 2016 at Yamba Maccas—they were just two coworkers chatting over flipping burgers & cooking fries. When Jake left for Melbourne, Tahlia barely noticed that he wasn't at work anymore (sorry, Jake! 😂). Fast forward to 2021 & guess who pops up in the drive-thru window? Jake, fresh from Melbourne’s lockdowns as he was apparently (illegally) COVID “isolating” in Yamba before he started a new job. There was a bit of banter & then it just took one cheeky message later for them to begin hanging out. Before they knew it, love was on the menu bringing them more joy than a Happy Meal 😂. After travelling up the Pacific Highway to see each other, Tahlia made the big move to Tweed Heads to be with Jake. To further heighten their domestic bliss, they then became proud parents to their gorgeous fur-child Lexi (who was the guest of honour at their wedding). Then on a lovely day in March 2024 - on their nephew Ruben’s birthday actually - Jake took Tahlia down to Greenmount Beach, got down on one knee & asked her to be his wife. She managed to spit out the easiest ‘yes’ 💍✨...so then it was wedding planning time, which was when they decided the low-key thing was for them . Their wedding day was perfect, so chilled out & laid back - just like them 😘. All the best to you Mr and Mrs Mitchell - we loved getting you married & being a part of your top-secret wedding day. And good on you for doing your wedding your way 🥂

CAN'T RESIST A D*CK PIC: These two brides are hilarious! Mel and Renee got hitched Emerald Lakes Golf Club on 24.08.24 & took them for a wander around precinct to get some post-ceremony portraits. It was here they stumbled across the & they asked just Rebecca Photography if they could get a photo in front of it because they knew I'd bloody love it - & I bloody do! It's one of the best wedding portraits I've ever seen, LOL. You girls cracked me up from the day we met & I love the fun vibe you brought to your wedding day, we had a hoot. Love you girls, I think we must be due for a beer soon! I loved everything about Darrin and - they are born & bred Poms who planned an awesome holiday to Australia at the end of 2024 to see their Oz family....& get married. And can I say, it's about time they tied the knot! Darrin & Natalie’s love story started waaaay back in 1996 when a mutual friend set them up on a blind date at the pub, and boom—instant connection! Within weeks, they were off on their first holiday so 28 years (& 2 kids later), they tied the knot on 21.12.24 on . It was the most stunning Gold Coast day & seriously, I felt truly honoured to have been the celebrant chosen to marry them...lucky me! What a great couple & fantastic celebration we had! A HOLIDAY TO REMEMBER: While New Zealanders & Dion were on their Gold Coast holiday, they tied the knot (09.01.25) after 15 years together. With the ocean as their backdrop at & their 3 boys by their side, their elopement was a beautiful, intimate celebration—for just them & their sons. Hayley & Dion's love story goes back to September 2010 when they first crossed paths at the gym. From their very first chat, the sparks were undeniable ! But this wasn’t technically their first meeting. A few months earlier, Hayley had already spotted Dion at the supermarket & she liked what she saw. It was love at first sight for her… though Dion was blissfully unaware of his secret admirer at the time! They often laugh at how fate (& the gym) brought them together. Fast forward one week & Dion asked Hayley out to dinner. That first date turned into a whirlwind romance. By week 2, they were practically inseparable, & within 3 months, they officially moved in together. When you know, you know, right? On their 5-year anniversary in 2015, Dion planned the most romantic proposal. He transformed their home with framed photos, candles, flowers—the whole works—and got down on one knee. Of course, Hayley said YES! Their wedding plans got put on the backburner with the arrival of their boys but their boys have been part of this love story from the start. You see, in their first year together, Hayley dreamt that she had three sons. Fast forward to today, and that dream came true! Their boys are the centre of their world and were the cutest little witnesses to their special day. IF YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYONE, JUST PLEASE YOURSELF: After 18 beautiful years together, Melinda and John finally tied the knot—and they did it their way. With family & friends interstate & overseas, the logistics were becoming overwhelming, so they decided to create a day that was just about them. And it was pure magic. They checked into —the very place they spent their first weekend away—& started the day with a spa treatment before heading to the beach. With waves at their feet and my dear friends & as witnesses, I had the honor of pronouncing them husband and wife. A deserted beach, golden light, & two people so in love—it couldn’t have been more perfect.
In a few weeks, they’ll celebrate their marriage & Melinda's milestone birthday with their loved ones, but their wedding day? Simply unforgettable. Here’s to Melinda and John and their beautifully unique love story.

MY WEDDING IS BOND, JAMES BOND: I love nothing more than a couple who make their wedding day their own by embracing their most favourite things in life. My groom Dion is completely obsessed with James Bond so he & his now wife Kate made it their mission to have a 007 themed wedding & wow, they nailed it (which is amazing considering it was all DIY). Their guests arrived at a waterfront bar on 20.09.24 for pre-ceremony drinks, not even knowing where the ceremony would be - there was speculation that Dion would parachute out of a plane & land on the pontoon, LOL! But no, once the drinks were over, all guests were 'escorted' to a space (within the precinct of Dion & Kate's estate at ), where the full extent of their dedication to the theme was revealed. We had the ceremony on the deck of the function centre but once the ceremony was over, the guests were treated to a full 'Casino Royale' themed reception with gaming tables & croupiers, free flowing martinis (shaken not stirred) & an amazing secret agent / treasure hunt type game where the guests had to look for clues all night. How good was that? I was also under strict instructions to make as many James Bond references in the ceremony as I possibly could: there were so many references (& only James Bond theme songs played throughout the ceremony), but I finished with this line, just before I pronounced them husband & wife: "All of us here wish you a world of wonderful tomorrows. Because as we know, Tomorrow never dies'....& then I told Dion to kiss the bride...and that is the amazing shot that was taken (swipe left to see the dip that followed). I absolutely adored Kate's amazing green sequinned dress, OMG, she looked incredible! The best night and fun ever! Good on you Kate and Dion: not only did I love your dedication to sticking with the Bond theme so well but your love for made me instantly know that you were my type of 'special agents' .
