We carefully chose Marilyn to be our wedding celebrant - we absolutely made the right decision and highly recommend her to others. Marilyn really personalised and customised the ceremony to us as a couple, also taking into account some small cultural wedding traditions. I was impressed with the amount of time Marilyn spent refining and perfecting every aspect of the ceremony. When we first met Marilyn we were struck by her character, sincerity and professionalism. Of course, a celebrant’s primary role is to be able to proficiently guide the couple through the logistics and legal of the wedding ceremony, but the choices you make to hire someone are almost always down to the gut feeling you get from their character and personality. Marilyn ‘knew her stuff’ and made every step of the process easy but her warm and bubbly nature was what sold us. We also felt passionate about finding a celebrant who was experienced and passionate about LGBTQ+ unions and her knowledge and extensive experience was appealing to us as a q***r couple. As our wedding was a surprise, we had few people who were in on the secret, but it was great to have Marilyn in on the conspiracy. It always felt like we were checking in with a family member who truly cared about our day when we would have our appointments. Her knowledge of the processes and legalities allowed us to relax in the lead up, and focus on the important elements, like crafting our vows and ceremony (which is the aspect that is the most memorable when you look back on the day). Marilyn was so encouraging of both of us in writing our unique vows and love story and the many resources that she offered were hugely helpful. Having her experienced eye over both sets of vows was a comfort, and she was always willing to give and take feedback on the vows and ceremony until everything was perfect. She was very flexible on the day as well, in the face of time changes and weather, which relaxed us a great deal. We are very grateful to have found Marilyn; she comes across as someone who truly loves her job and takes great pride in it and that made the whole process a joy. Thanks Marilyn!

Tristan & Tom teamed up with me to create their beautiful wedding. They are two very special humans and self-confessed nerds who met through their mutual love of all things Dr Who. The ice breaker at their first meeting was a sonic screwdriver and who doesn’t love some awesome Dr Who memorabilia. Tristan & Tom’s wedding was a celebration of love and fun with a Dr Who Handfasting, their story of true love and some real old world magic. Right from the start Marilyn was friendly and welcoming. She worked with us to create a wonderful ceremony, both providing ideas and accepting criticisms. What was especially helpful was her candidness about what could be done during Covid, and she helped us create a backup plan in the case of a severe lock down. Luckily, the wedding day itself was restriction free and Marilyn welcomed all our friends and family with a warm smile. & Jules Hazelman - Morettes married in an intimate ceremony with all their special family and friends in the Grotto of Tamborine Gardens Wedding Resort. Happy 1st Anniversary Emily & Ronja! I remember your wedding day so well at the amazing Pether's Rainforest Retreat on Tamborine Mountain. Two of the most beautiful brides walking up the aisle with your dad's then back down the aisle hand in hand on an absolute high! We laughed, had fun together there was romance & tears of joy and a loving grounded connection. Marcel and I wish you all the happiness in the world for tomorrow. You love yummy vegan food and cooking for each other and I am sure you will celebrate with one of your culinary masterpieces....I suspect you are still buying way too many vegetables at the markets too.

Marilyn, we can’t thank you enough for the part you played in our wedding. All our friends and family have commented on how beautiful and unique the ceremony you created for us was, and how nicely you captured our personalities. We met with other celebrants but knew straight away that you were the right fit for us when we met. You were a calming influence during the ceremony as well as in the months leading up to it during a hectic period of wedding planning. We decided to include the wine box ceremony which turned out to be a beautiful addition that we will remember every year when we crack open a new bottle and read our vows and letters!
