I would honestly adopt every couple if I could! And now I've been adopted! Apparently the documents are being drawn up as I post this!

It's always popular and a favourite of mine to marry couples near the water. Background Lakes, Broadwaters and Canals add that European vibe - I just don't remember a single one that wasn't windy!

Documents and styling items need to be carefully protected from gusts, and up-styles or loads of hairspray is a must (although clearly not enough this time!) 🥰 - all part of my role as a Celebrant to plan ahead for any curved balls!

A wedding that will always hold a special place - even though it was 'competitive'! There were a lot of Kiwi, Aussie and South African guests and players which made rugby talk very interesting! I have to admit, I'm a real fence-sitter in these situations!

Why do you need a plan B on your wedding day? Because the heavens can open totally unannounced! And they did on this day.

Were the bride and groom phased? If they were, I never noticed, because they were so excited and blissfully happy. AND they had an indoor option. Max and Shandelle also wisely chose very experienced and professional photographers to deal with the limited lighting in the romantic old chapel atmosphere.

We were all caught a little off guard for this one! But I can assure you, once the nerves settled down after the vows and I do's, it was big smiles all round!

We met and planned their special day remotely, yet I felt I had known this sweet couple for a long, long time. We clicked, we gelled, we chatted, we laughed, we planned with many miles between us - and it all came together beautifully. Don't let distance deter you 🩵🤍🩵

Yesterday, I officiated a memorial service for a special woman - a mother, a nan, a friend and colleague - at this little grassy mound. Her very favourite spot on the beach. It could not have been a more beautiful day to celebrate her life. Her gorgeous granddaughter blew bubbles as 'kisses to Nan in heaven'. It was a ceremony full of peaceful and touching moments.
