I'm Doug Walden, a Brisbane-based wedding celebrant. I've been a celebrant since early 2022, I'm a father of two, a traveler, I work in financial services and I absolutely love weddings. After my own wedding in 2018, I was absolutely caught up in wedding vibes, and the thought of meeting great couples and helping tell the story of their relationship as they take such an exciting step into the futu

re was an adventure far too exciting for me not to pursue. I'm happy to offer full celebrant services in your wedding ceremony, whether it be a full ceremony, legals-only, or elopements. I'm based in Brisbane but happy to travel around South-East QLD. This was a special one. One of my favourite parts of this job is meeting people and forming connections as you learn about their lives, and Chloe & Alex really, truly felt like great mates by the time their wedding came around. That made it all the more special to be their celebrant and MC for their October wedding at Kirra Hill this year. I'm eternally thankful to them and their family for the way they welcomed me into their wedding in such a warm way. What a couple. 😍😍😍

How do I even express what a pleasure and privilege it was to be on this journey with these two?? I highly enjoyed telling this story during their ceremony and I'll share some here. The first picture is from the intimate elopement on Sharpes Beach on 25 April 2024 where we performed the legals and they were married, and this stunning picture was taken. BUT the secret journey began that day as they prepared their larger scale wedding day at Maroon Hill Estate on 23 Aug 2025 where no family or friends knew about the elopement! The big reveal mid-ceremony was SO FUN, and finally, I can share this amazing photo along with a photo from their big day too!!
I'm a little sad that this journey is over but will never get these two stunning human beings.

I barely know where to begin! Everything about this amazing couple was highlighted on their incredible wedding day at Summergrove Estate this year. A gorgeous southern GC hinterland wedding in one of the most stunning locations imaginable, with a crowd of loving family and friends, and a couple so genuine I swear, I was finding hard to keep it together and professional during the whole day.
Such an immense pleasure to have been on this journey with them both and a wedding I'll never forget.

One of the things I love so much about being a celebrant is that a wedding might take me somewhere so undeniably gorgeous, my brain doesn't properly comprehend it until I sit and stare a few minutes. Especially on what I can only describe as a perfect day in South East Queensland. 😍
I am so lucky to marry this incredible couple here today. 🥹

Even from the drive through this region to get here, this felt like a fairytale wedding. The most stunning and perfect venue for Holly and Brett on a beautiful day surrounded by family.
It's a particularly special moment to be able to help marry a long-time friend and inviting me to their intimate wedding at in Northern NSW, it's hard to put into words just how special this was. And as a celebrant, being at a lot for words isn't really supposed to happen! Big big big love for these two.
