About Us
Montrose Bay High School is a co-educational, comprehensive high school catering for students in Grades 7 - 10. It had its beginnings in a decision made early in 2009 by the School Associati

on and staff of Rosetta and Claremont High Schools to begin an amalgamation process into 2010 to ensure students could have access to improved learning spaces, including a Performing Arts Centre, Language laboratories and Science laboratories.

School Association Meeting - Tomorrow evening at 5.15pm in our conference room.
We are always looking for new members to attend, even if it's only one meeting we can support that. The School Association is a chance for our community members to have input into the direction of our school and support decision making moving forward - Mr Nicholas.

Year 9 and 10 Drama students went to the Theatre Royal on Friday to watch Bell Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. It was a fantastic performance with a Q&A afterwards with some of our students being brave and asking questions.

A reminder that Stop Work Action will occur tomorrow morning.

Due to planned stop work action by Tasmanian Unions on Thursday, 30 October 2025 in the Southern region, it has been determined that our school will be temporarily closed for educational instruction until 11am on this day. This action is necessary as we are unable to guarantee adequate duty of care.
We ask that students arrive after 11.00am for a 11.30am start. Also note that bus operators will not be adjusting their timetables in response to the later school starting time.
We recognise these closures due to industrial action will impact families; it is regrettable that school closure action is necessary, however, we must be able to ensure adequate safety and supervision of students. If you are concerned you will be unable to make alternative arrangements for your child, please contact our office as soon as possible.

Today the student environmental group were busy working on the new native plant garden, which will support native bird life around Montrose. 40 more plants went into the garden - a mix of acacias, melaleucas, and native grass (poa).

Students are wanting to name the garden and are looking for name suggestions from the community. We had some great suggestions last week, and the students will vote on these towards the end of the year, once the garden is completed. If you have an idea, please enter it in the link below. https://tinyurl.com/4a4xkpay
