WHERE HAVE ALL THE BBQ TEAMS GONE?

We want to hear from current, former and potential competition BBQ teams across Australia!

Over the years, we’ve seen competitions attract upwards of 90 teams, while some events today are struggling to reach double figures.

We want to understand why and what we can do to help bring more people into competition BBQ.

Whether you’re still competing, have stepped away or have always wanted to give it a crack, we’d love your feedback.

FOR CURRENT AND FORMER COMPETITORS

1. When did you last compete?
2. Why did you stop competing, or what makes you consider stopping?
3. What did your last competition cost you to enter and attend?
4. How far would you be willing to travel for a competition?
5. Would having all four competition proteins supplied change your decision to enter?
6. Would guaranteed prize money for every team encourage you to compete?
7. What would bring you back to competition BBQ or encourage you to compete more regularly?

8. What’s stopping you from entering your first ABA competition?
9. Would a dedicated rookie division or rookie prizes encourage you to enter?

Hello everyone I have decided I need to go back to work for a bit. This isn’t the end this is just me having a break. This isn’t a cry for help. This is just me doing something I need to do for a bit.

Good morning everyone it has now been over a week since the Gladstone BBQ Festival. We would like to thank everyone who did come out and supported us. It was a tough weekend for everyone with the challenges of so many events on at the same time. We want to work with you guys and make this better. We will be having a couple weeks off after MEAT Noosa - A Gourmet Smokeout this weekend as we need a break. So tell us what you want from us? If you know someone who may be thinking about sponsoring, someone who wants to volunteer there time, someone who wants to make my load a little lighter than dob them in. We want this to work for the community. But as you know I do a lot of stuff by myself. And I need to lessen the load a little bit.

We are down here at CQ Trailer Sales at 23 Toolooa st South Gladstone. We are cooking from 4pm-8pm. Gladstones first ever drive through barbecue place. Come off Toolooa street to get here. On the menu today we have pork lollipops, pulled brisket and pork sliders and chicken wings and potato. We are here with Smokin’ Hot Grill Masters. Come see us than get your dessert from Coffee on Toolooa Drive Thru Thank you Aj and the team for letting us set up here.

This Friday night we will be setting up Gladstones first ever drive through Barbecue pop up. We will be down at CQ Trailer Sales at 23 Toolooa St. We will be joining Mike from Smokin’ Hot Grill Masters. Get your Barbecue from us then get your desserts from Coffee on Toolooa Drive Thru. We will be open from 4-8pm

If you’re down this way and want to judge some top notch barbecue than give Rusty Ian Dellit a message or email. We can’t do these things without judges. And who doesn’t want to eat barbecue food all day.

Something big is happening this Friday night. We are teaming up with our friends at Smokin’ Hot Grill Masters to bring you the first ever drive through barbecue pick up. Fresh off there BBQ Lovers Choice, Best BBQ at the Gladstone BBQ Festival these guys know their stuff. We will give the address times and menu later on in the week. So we will give you the details soon. So over and like there page too. There is some exciting things happening in the barbecue world in Gladstone.
