The New Christs, featuring Rob Younger of Radio Birdman, return to Brisbane in 2026 for their first appearance in the city since 2016, bringing with them the fire, intensity and conviction that have made them one of Australia's most enduring rock bands. Fresh from a triumphant European tour in 2025, where they tore through clubs and festivals with the same ferocity that has defined them since the early 1980s, the band arrives in Brisbane sounding as vital and uncompromising as ever.
Led by the unmistakable Rob Younger, The New Christs have spent more than four decades carving out a unique place in Australian rock, renowned for blistering live performances and a catalogue that fuses raw power with dark melodic depth. Their Brisbane return comes alongside the release of The Burning of Rome – Selected Works, a double LP collection spanning the band's remarkable career, from the explosive early singles and brooding classics through to later recordings that highlight a band continuing to evolve rather than simply revisit the past.
More than a celebration of their legacy, these performances are a testament to The New Christs' enduring relevance and creative drive. For longtime fans who have waited a decade to see them back in Brisbane, and for a new generation discovering the band for the first time, this is a rare opportunity to witness one of Australia's great rock & roll institutions at full strength.
