FACE PAINTING ON CHILDREN UNDER 3
Lately, some people have been asking why we do not offer face painting on children under 3 years old, so we wanted to explain the reasoning behind our policy.
Children under 3 have extremely delicate and sensitive skin. Although we pride ourselves on using professional, high-quality face paints and maintaining strict hygiene practices, skin reactions can still occur. Younger children are at a much higher risk of irritation and allergic reactions due to their skin barrier still developing.
Possible reactions can range from mild irritation and rashes to flare-ups of skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis, and in rare cases, severe allergic reactions including anaphylaxis. While reactions are uncommon, it is simply not a risk we are personally willing to take for something temporary.
This policy is in place purely for the health, safety, and comfort of young children.
That being said, we absolutely still offer fun alternatives for children under 3, including designs on the arm or leg, stamps, stickers, or other small options. Over our 4 years in business, we have also found that many younger children actually prefer arm or leg designs, as they can see the artwork themselves and often feel more comfortable than having their face painted.
