GG's Flowers & Hampers is a socially sustainable florist in the ACT. We employ people with disabilities to provide meaningful employment and education opportunities to them. Based in Canberra, we deliver to all suburbs and can take on any project, big or small. Personally, Geetha Wijewickrema is the mother of Gayana Wijewickrema, a young and vivacious 15 year-old with Down Syndrome. Together, it i

s their passion and dream to make floral arrangements for the Canberra community. We specialise in corsages, floral arrangements, gift boxes, hampers, bouquets and everything else flowers related! It’s Tuesday, you know what day it is... Terrific Team Tuesday, where we introduce one of the incredible people behind our GG’s deliveries 🌸

This week we’re introducing the wonderful Peter 💛

Peter is such an important part of the GG’s family. Over time, Peter’s capacity to stand for long periods has been limited, but what has been so inspiring is the way he has adapted with such positivity and determination.

Rather than giving up, Peter has taken the initiative to find new jobs he can focus on and continue contributing to the team in meaningful ways. Whether it’s helping with tasks around the workspace, supporting the team where he can or using his support workers to help adapt his jobs, Peter always approaches his work with a smile and a willingness to help.

We are so proud of the way Peter has adjusted to his new roles and priorities at work. His resilience, positive attitude, and commitment to GG’s do not go unnoticed 🌸

Peter is a truly valued member of our team, and we’re so lucky to have him as part of the GG’s family 💐

This week we’re introducing our beautiful G 💛

In between appointments, gym sessions, and Shrek concerts, G is always making time for more jobs around GG’s! She brings such a fun energy to the team and is always ready to help wherever she can.

We’ve been so proud watching G continue to grow in her role and build her confidence with work-focused tasks. She has shown amazing improvement in completing her jobs from start to finish, taking on more responsibility and pushing herself in new ways every week.

Whether she’s helping keep our spaces tidy, carrying boxes, or lending a helping hand to the team, G always gives things a go with determination and a smile 🌸

G is such a valued member of the GG’s family, and we absolutely love seeing her shine 💐

Mother’s Day may be over, but at GG’s we’re lucky enough to celebrate one very special mum every single day 🌸💛

This week in Lieu of our terrific team celebration, we’re celebrating the heart behind GG’s Flowers & Hampers — our beautiful Mama G.

GG’s began from a mother’s love. Mama G created GG’s with a dream of building meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities, inspired by her love for her family and community. What started as a small idea has now grown into something so special, creating opportunities, friendships, confidence, and purpose for so many people across Canberra.

If you’ve ever visited GG’s, you’ve probably felt Mama G’s warmth straight away. She is caring, welcoming, hardworking, and always looking after everyone around her; whether that’s our staff, customers, or community.

Behind every bouquet, hamper, and delivery is so much love, and Mama G is the reason that love exists at the centre of everything we do 💐

We are endlessly grateful for everything she does and so proud to celebrate her — not just as an amazing mum, but as the heart of the GG’s family 🌸

This week we’re introducing Alexandra (Allie) Wilson 💛

Allie is always up for a chat; she’s curious, warm, and will probably ask you your dog’s name, the model/make of your car and what you do! She’s such a friendly face and truly makes every delivery a little more special.

Allie is also an incredibly hard worker. She’s been building her resilience and capacity for work-focused tasks, and we’ve loved watching her growth—from doing just 5 minutes of flower cutting to helping manage her team during an entire flower stocktake!

Allie is such a valued member of our team, and we love her very much. We’re so proud of how much she has grown during her time at GG’s 💐

Lateasha is truly multifaceted—whether she’s in the florist, the hamper room, or even the lunch room, she approaches everything with care and attention to detail. She is incredibly hardworking and takes pride in doing things well.

Over the past few weeks, Lateasha has shown amazing growth, building her resilience and continuing to push herself in new ways. She’s also been learning what it means to be a great friend and a helping hand to those around her, and it’s been so lovely to see.

Welcome to Terrific Team Tuesday (Friday edition), where we introduce one of the beautiful team members behind every GG’s delivery.

This week we’re introducing Brodie! 💛
Brodie is always happy to lend a hand and brings such a fun, positive energy to the team. She’s known for her big smile, her love of a good laugh, and always being up for a bit of fun around the shop. She’s also always up for a challenge—constantly pushing her limits with fitness and giving anything new a go. On top of that, Brodie has been busy learning all the bits and bobs of floristry, and it’s been amazing to watch her grow!

Brodie is also a huge animal lover (and will absolutely offer to walk your dog if given the chance 🐶), which just adds to her kind and caring nature that we all adore.

We’re so lucky to have Brodie as part of the GG’s family!
