Yes, your heritage and culture can be included in your civil marriage ceremony.

One of my favourite things about wedding ceremonies is the inclusion of elements that are intentional and meaningful. Recently, Resh and Sammy were married at the stunning Connections Garden at The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan.

Sammy's Sri Lankan heritage was honoured with a traditional Poruwa ceremony, which was lead by Amila and his drummers. It was an incredibly symbolic ceremony, with many rituals for blessing the newlyweds.

It was an absolute pleasure to combine my civil ceremony with the Poruwa customs to create a considered and customised experience for Resh and Sammy. Thanks for inviting me to be part of this beautiful service.

❤️ Congratulations to Erica & Angus ❤️

For their 8th anniversary they planned an engagement party… then turned into ‘surprise, we were married earlier today’! 🥰

It was supposed to be family only, however Angus was so excited, that he let the surprise slip to a few of their friends. And so, the guest list grew 🤣

It was a customised, heartfelt, and throughly ‘them’ kinda wedding ceremony. After meeting me at another wedding last year, they knew I was the celebrant for them. Thanks for trusting me with this moment in your lives. ☺️
