For more than 70 years, Lawsie’s unmistakable voice filled radios across Australia. Starting his career back in 1953, he became one of the most recognisable and influential figures in broadcasting known for his smooth delivery, sharp wit, and larger-than-life personality.

Nicknamed the 'King of Radio,' John had a way of making listeners feel like they were chatting with an old friend. To generations of Aussies, he was a comforting constant; whether you heard him at home, at work or on the morning drive.

From his time at 2UE, 2SM and stations right across the country, John Laws shaped the sound of Australian radio and inspired countless broadcasters who followed.

He’ll go down in history as Australia’s greatest broadcaster and a true icon whose voice will never be forgotten.
