As always, I must quote the famous Tomopolis and encourage you to “Basque in the glory” of THIS…The cheesecake that sees customers pull me from the depths of the back kitchen. Each time I’m still expecting I’ve been pulled aside for bad news but alas, it’s to hear their praises. 😅

It’s beautiful in its simplicity and complex yet subtle flavour and it’ll be in the cake fridge tomorrow but probably not for long.

Day 1
Feed starter to produce enough, soak fruit in orange & spices.

Day 2
Mix, warm prove, cold prove & shape dough.

Day 3
Warm prove, crosses on top, bake, baste, cool and serve with a slab of salted butter.

Orders in groups of 6. Only 1 customer can order the table centrepiece of 18 each day (the mega round tin of buns that I’m obsessed with 😁😁😁)…

So…order cut offs are
Monday for Wednesday
Tuesday = Thursday
Wednesday = Friday
Thursday = Saturday

First in first served – once we reach capacity for orders each day that’s it!

AKA – ORDER YOURS TODAY via message or phone with name, phone, pick up day & number of buns.

We’ll only be allowing for 24 for the café itself each day ###

They’re insanely beautiful and actually pretty tricky to grow. Each year the bulbs have to be dug up and stored in sand to avoid rotting through the winter, then replanted at just the right time to avoid germinating before the last frost. Without skilled pruning they’ll produce nothing but foliage or flowers with short little stems so how lucky are we to have the three generations at once of grow and pick these for you on their property near Goolma. The smallest is 8 months of age so no doubt a flower or two won’t make it thanks to those gorgeous little hands😊🌸

Keep an eye on our stories for when we have them - the season is bountiful but short and they’re too beautiful to be missed x

I’m hatching a plan. It is of course to do with dough but you’re going to be a little more involved… get excited and stay tuned… delicious things are on the horizon.

And closer than the horizon (as in tomorrow).l, as always (95% of the time 🤨🙃😆), we’ll be getting up at sparrow’s fart to bake you very good sourdough loaves and the above which is/ will be cinnamon babka. Xx

Whether you like it or not tomorrow is a big day so you can lean into it and make someone feel special or (dare I say) suffer the consequences.

You don’t need to do much but just don’t be like Ed who claims he is “against Valentine’s Day on principle”. Naturally that’s great for me 🤨. I don’t even like flowers! 🙃😭. Honestly at this point I’d think he was having an affair.

Nevertheless, we’ve got flowers for sale, flourless chocolate hazelnut tortes for two (gf), sourdough baguettes and loaves to smother with the best cheeses you can find (go to ) , jubilee finger buns because you’ve all asked for them and cinnamon babka scrolls for the same reason.

It’ll be nothing but love hearts atop coffees, Ed bellowing about his views on Valentine’s Day and I’d say, a lot of cake and merriment.
