There’s something beautifully unruly about ‘new style weddings’. I’ve stood in gardens with gumboots on, raised my glass in grand halls, and cheered as couples danced barefoot under marquee lights. From jeans in the backyard to espresso martinis replacing cake—no two have ever been the same.

And that’s what I love most. When couples throw out the rulebook, their quirks take centre stage. It’s not about perfection—it’s about them. Those little touches, those unexpected moments—they’re what make every celebration unforgettable

What is IDAHOBIT? You might ask….

IDAHOBIT is observed annually on May 17 to raise awareness of the discrimination and violence faced by le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and q***r (LGBTIQ+) people globally. The date commemorates the World Health Organization’s 1990 decision to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder.

Just spent the morning crafting a heartfelt ceremony for an intimate wedding—just the couple, their parents, and their four kids. It doesn’t get more genuine than that!

I had so much fun putting it together and honestly can’t wait for the big day. Instead of the usual “You may kiss the bride,” I’m thinking:
