Today my wonderful husband and I reflect on 7 years of marriage. In the lead up to my wedding I remember feeling stressed about all the little details…. I see it every day with my brides and grooms….

But the only thing I remember from that day is the feeling….

The feeling of having all your favourite people together. The feeling of excitement knowing that your life journey together is just beginning and there’s so much to look forward to. The overflowing love in the room.

How grateful I am for this wonderful man who loves me unconditionally even on my worst days. In this crazy universe of billions of people we found one another - and we chose one another - and I’m so proud of the life and love we’ve created.

We were lucky enough to celebrate yesterday with our new friends Lisa and Garry who booked me to MC their reception before finding out it was our special day too and inviting Ryan along to join the fun! How lovely are they?! I work with the best couples!! How much fun we had celebrating their day - dancing,laughing and eating delicious cake!

It was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary 🤍🤍

📸FAMILY PHOTOS

Most of the time - family group photos are scheduled in for straight after your ceremony.

After the high of your ceremony and feeling over the moon I’ve often witnessed my couples jump into one of the most time consuming, and sometimes stressful parts of their day.

The problem is WRANGLING YOUR GUESTS to be in the right place at the right time to get their photos done. As you can imagine… uncle BOb’s already run off to the bar, cousin Steve has gone to put the baby to sleep (who’s supposed to be in the photos) and sister Sandra is off flirting with one of the handsome groomsmen by then… and NOONE IS PAYING attention.

So what’s the solution?

I always offer to stay back after the ceremony with my microphone and PA to help with this process by calling out who’s in the upcoming photos and making sure the people that you need don’t go anywhere.

Just send me a list of names for each photo and I’ll work with your photographer to make it a seamless and fun process.

And, it will only cost you a glass of bubbles and a canapé or two 😂😂😂💕💕💕

I met with a couple last week who are getting married in the same beautiful spot that I tied the knot in nearly 6 years ago at 💕 (My absolute favourite place!)

I gave them lots of tips and showed them my own beautiful photos and in doing so I remembered how much I LOVED this moment…

A quiet break with my husband straight after the ceremony. It was so nice to sit and connect, just the two of us out on the water with no one else around before the real festivities and craziness of the day began. It’s one of my favourite parts of our day despite being terrified that I might capsize in my wedding dress 😂

If you can find a way to take a quiet moment with your new husband or wife on your wedding day - I highly recommend!

Hi 👋

I’m Jess - and now that we’re well and truly into the swing of 2024 and there’s a few new faces on my Insta, I thought it would be a good time to reintroduce myself!

Firstly, I’m a mum to 3 amazing boys and I’ll definitely tell you all about them if we meet :) I’m a lover of a good coffee - and a great book (currently really enjoying anything by Kelly Rimmer). My idea of self care is a swim in the ocean - any problem feels lighter by the beach… and our family love supporting the Sydney Swans!

I’m your friendly Sutherland Shire based celebrant - servicing Sydney, Wollongong and beyond - and the smile you can see in this photo reflects the absolute high I get from doing my job. Even after 7 years and over 250 married couples… I still walk away with a grin like this on my face every single time.

How lucky I am to be invited to one of the most memorable days of a persons life and to play such a special role. The trust that my couples put into me is something that Im very grateful for and my goal for your wedding ceremony is to create a personalised, warm, light, and authentic reflection of who you are. The time I spend getting to know my couples is my favourite part of the process and I honestly feel like a lot of them become friends…

I love seeing where their paths lead after their special day and staying in touch.

Last year I decided that after 2 years of maternity leave from my day job - I’d jump full time into being a celebrant and now all of my days are dedicated to memorable celebrations for my couples and also to families celebrating the lives of loved ones, having added funeral services to my offerings too. It’s a real privilege to help guide the families I work with during a vulnerable time, and to create something beautiful together honouring their loved one.
