I explain why Italians eat the way they do. Without rules or shouting. Pasta, coffee, family rhythm, and the BEST Arancine in Sydney.

Italy’s flag is green, white and red… so why do Italian teams wear BLUE? 🇮🇹
Every Italian national team — football, rugby, volleyball and more — wears blue and is known as “Gli Azzurri.”
But the reason has nothing to do with the Italian flag.
It actually goes back more than 100 years to the House of Savoy, the royal family that ruled Italy until 1946.
Their official colour was Savoy Blue, and when Italy’s national football team first played in 1911, they wore blue to honour the monarchy.
Even after Italy became a republic, the colour remained.
Today, blue is part of Italy’s sporting identity around the world.
That’s why Italy will always be known as Gli Azzurri.
