According to the 2026 Australian Wedding Industry Report, couples may be watching their budgets more carefully....but they haven’t lowered their expectations.

The average Australian wedding now costs more than $38,000, the average guest list has dropped to 88 people, and almost one in five couples books the first supplier who responds

I asked Alexa for three words to describe Sam:
Stinky. Cheeky. Loyal.
Strong start….🤣
Sam gave me:
Loyal. Passionate. Quirky.
And somewhere between schoolyard friendship, missed romantic signals, Sam refusing to take the hint that his “opportunity had passed”, and a proposal in Milford Sound that absolutely SHOULD have been filmed on their new drone… these two found their way here to Misty Mountain Manor
No huge production.
Just 10 people, plenty of laughs and two best mates getting married.

For the Dads who are here. And the Dads we wish were.
Today will be a beautiful day for many families.
For others, there’ll be an empty chair.
A phone call you wish you could still make.
A familiar voice you’d give anything to hear again.
A Dad or Grandad you’d love to have back, even for five minutes.
Through the many funerals I’m privileged to be part of, I’m constantly reminded that when a father leaves us, his story doesn’t leave with him.
It lives on in the lessons he taught.
The sayings we still repeat.
The stories that get better every time they’re told.
The little mannerisms we suddenly realise we’ve inherited.
And in the generations that carry a piece of him forward.
So today, celebrate Dad.
If he’s here, hug him a little tighter.
And if he’s no longer beside you, say his name, tell his stories, raise a glass and remember him with love.
Because whether they are with us or here in spirit, today we celebrate our fathers.

There are some couples you meet as a celebrant and you just know their story is going to be a cracker
Dylan & Lilly… you two delivered.
From meeting at work, to late-night gaming sessions, to becoming completely inseparable… and eventually a proposal in Japan, this is one of those stories filled with all the little things that make a relationship special.
The laughter.
The ridiculous inside jokes.
The adventures.
The stubbornness.
And simply wanting to be beside each other, even when you’re doing absolutely nothing.
