Sabine Brix & I have been mates for quite from time, think we first connected post covid as her ep drop on SYNTHICIDE Musically we have always been very alined, with a deep love of all things EBM, New Beat & Post Punk.

I’m actually surprised it took us this long to collaborate like this. We have remixed each other over the years, but never a colab’d on a track like this! So big up’s to CURSES for the vision & push to do so!

When this all came about last year Sabine Brix was still living in Berlin so we did the work remotely, same way I’ve done most of my colabs.

We discussed ideas & inspiration then Brixx shot me a few loops & sketch’s of ideas. I in turn tweek and embellished everything adding Layers, Acid & ear candy’s… essentially made a bit of a mess 😝🫣

Anyway, flipped it back to Brixx for a bit of a clean up n polish b4 preventing it to Eskimo Recordings

Over all the progress flowed really well! Track was pretty much done before we realised what we had created 🙌😜

Over the moon to be included in the 3rd instalment of this iconic series!

Massive thank to luca CURSES for the invite & the push to colab with my long term musical friend. N big ups Eskimo Recordings for delivering such an amazing piece of physical art! 👌👾🖤

I’m so bored of shaky-cam DJs jumping at the drop like it’s a skill. Anyone can jump around to a drop.

Personally I’ve always been more interested in transitions, layering and phrasing — watching an artist actually build something new from two fixed parameters. Taking what exists and manipulating it into something unique with a bunch of mental technical ticks!

I got into this sport because of the skills, tricks and techniques. Before I understood the instrument of dex, DJing just looked like someone dancing to other people’s music. I couldn’t see the instrumentation in it. I didn’t understand the third song.

Lately there’s this idea / talking point that technical ability doesn’t matter. Funny how that opinion usually comes from people letting the tech do the heavy lifting.

Strip away the skill and suddenly everyone’s “equal.” Convenient for those faking it. 😏

For me, it would be more exciting if ppl posted their transitions. the mixes where they build a drop that doesn’t exist. Post the cuts & chops, the rough and the smooth.

Anyone can dance with their hand in the air to a drop and the crowd will go mad to popular songs. It requires zero skills. Technical ability & skilz in the craft aren’t.

Make it hard again. Make it technical as f**k and see how many DJs there are when you actually have to put in time, dedication and frustration to get good!

Anyway that’s my 2 cents… Please remember I’m old, I’m grumpy & very sick of all the bu****it. Skills matter, experience matters, and the people that say they don’t are most likely proper up by technology and in it for money or fame. Either way, they aren’t here for the music!

Face you make when 2 original producers melt into each other!

I’ve really be enjoying creating & not singing / sending anything out recently.. it’s really helped me get back into a much better creative place!

For so long was trapped in this write to release loop, making me overly critical & focusing on the destination rather then just vomiting things out and slowing them to be s**t..

The great thing that happened when ya get here is more good stuff comes & its a f**k load more fun making noise!!

I do appreciate all the requests for stuff, but I don’t wanna drop anything as I don’t want my head space / creative flow to change.

At some point I’ll need to open the volt & share some things.. maybe 😝🤗👌
