Stones of the Yarra Valley

Stones of the Yarra Valley Twenty years of love stories. A wedding destination in the Yarra Valley. Ceremony, reception, floristry, stays. All in one place.

Rising from the rustic, weather-beaten remnants of a barn left idle for generations, Stones of the Yarra Valley has emerged as the region’s premiere food and wine destination. With uninterrupted views across vines to the blue-tinged Great Divide, Stones of the Yarra Valley is located on one of the most picturesque and historic properties in the Yarra Valley, combining two superb restaurants – The

Barn and The Stables at Stones – with a stunning rough-rendered Chapel and Dairy nestled under century-old oak trees.

Set against the warmth of autumn in The Stables, the florals felt as though they had always belonged there, layered, abundant, and perfectly in tune with the season.

Bringing softness, colour, and a sense of warmth to every corner of the celebration, they became an unforgettable part of Sue and Chris’ wedding day.

"Our florals were next level. I was in love with them the moment I saw my bouquet." — Sue

A beautiful reflection of how thoughtful floral design can completely transform the atmosphere of a celebration.

Hannah and Nate created a celebration that felt deeply personal, full of warmth, joy and thoughtful details.

Their bridal party was a beautiful mix of colour, texture and personality. Every dress was different, but together they felt perfectly at home alongside one another, a reflection of the people standing beside them and the feeling of the day.

Winter at Stones is never boring.

While the season brings a quieter rhythm, the landscape remains alive: vibrant green lawns, mist settling across the vines, and the gentle promise of new growth waiting beneath the surface.

Beautiful in a different way. Calm, considered, and quietly full of life.

Two months later, and we still find ourselves thinking about this beautiful outdoor celebration.

Beneath the warmth of the April sun, surrounded by family, friends, and their beloved dog, Millie and Dom exchanged vows against the backdrop of the Yarra Valley.

A day filled with joy, gentle moments, and the kind of love that felt effortless to witness.

One of those celebrations that stays with you long after the day itself has passed.

At Stones, we see wedding cakes as part of the overall atmosphere, a sculptural moment that reflects the story of each celebration in its own way.

Beyond the styling itself, they bring an added sense of atmosphere and personality to a celebration, a detail that quietly ties the entire setting together. More importantly, the cutting of the cake represents one of the first moments a couple shares together on their wedding day: a small ritual symbolising a future built side by side.

The Barn, only open on weekends.

Beyond the celebrations and wedding evenings it is known for, The Barn reveals a quieter rhythm on weekends. Soft natural light fills the space, long lunches unfold slowly, and the Yarra Valley sits just beyond the windows in calm stillness.

A place to slow down, settle in, and experience Stones in a different light.

We welcome both intimate gatherings and larger bookings. The Barn, a space that holds each occasion with ease.

High Tea at The Stables.

Our first High Tea takes place next weekend, with a limited number of tables still available for the opening sittings.

Sweet and savoury tiers, local tea, and a little time set aside in the Yarra Valley. Thoughtfully prepared and designed to be shared.

For years, The Dairy has been the space that gently bridges ceremony and celebration, where guests gather for drinks, canapés, and conversation before the evening unfolds.

Recently, we welcomed outdoor cocktail tables and sun umbrellas into the experience for the first time.

The result felt naturally at home here. Guests lingering beneath the Yarra Valley sunshine, drinks in hand, moving between the terrace and The Dairy as the afternoon carried on around them.

A simple addition that brought another layer of ease to one of the most familiar parts of the day.

Seeing Stones from a different perspective, and it still takes our breath away.

The winding vines, golden light, and timeless beauty of the estate, viewed from above.

Even after all this time, there’s still something about this place that stops us in our tracks.

Sometimes, the first tears on a wedding day are not the bride’s, but her mother’s.

A quiet embrace, hands adjusting a veil, tears shared between laughter, and the silent understanding of a love that words could never fully hold.

Moments that come from loving someone so deeply, and watching them begin a new chapter.

To every mother,
Happy Mother’s Day, from all of us at Stones.
