With 2025 coming to a close, I again express my thanks to everyone who has given me a go. There are plenty of other options for getting from point A to B so it is incredibly humbling every time I have the joy of driving someone.

There were quiet and hectic months throughout the year. Plenty of times I had to refer drives over to Castlemaine Flyer due to clashes with other drives — I don’t charge a booking fee to them when I do this, it is purely coming from a need to do right by my people whether it’s first time or returning passengers.

I had the privilege of driving glowing couples to their weddings, and offering the calm comfort to those who needed it most from Samadhi Wellness Spa Health Retreat near Daylesford to Melbourne Airport and into Epworth Richmond. Additionally offering care and support through NDIS transport and assistance with social participation.

The newly acquired Lexus has already proven the rumours that it is the most expensive Lexus to own as the rear air suspension is failing, costing $6,000 in parts for two air struts. I need about 30 airport transfers to pay for parts so hopefully next year is a busy one!

My first Melbourne CBD to Tullamarine airport transfer this morning! Very fortunate timing that I was based in Melbourne with family the night prior to offer this drive at a reasonable price — at $74 it would be slightly less than cost to drive in from Castlemaine.

If I was able to drive for Uber or do unbooked (taxi) fares it would open up the business to Melbourne, but for now it’s best to cross fingers and hope I can offer my service at a competitive price.

No chocolates included at $74 but a smooth and comfortable ride with one of the best chauffeurs in the industry is guaranteed 🦊

I hope all my lovely people have had a marvellous xmas and a safe and happy New Years ahead!

Vale Sean Kenan. One week ago our gorgeous town of Castlemaine lost an artist who graced the streets every day with his profound wealth of Irish tunes on fiddle and banjo.

Sean taught me how to play fiddle in a few hours when I was 7 years old. It was the first Guildford Banjo Jamboree I went to with my dad and I recall Sean being obsessed about my natural ability to hear a tune and play it by ear. He said to my dad that he needed to buy me a fiddle and if I ever wanted lessons, he gave us his card.

Dad bought me a cheap fiddle from ebay once we were home in Cranbourne. It was so loud and shrieking sounding that I would put garden pegs and blue-tack on the bridge to dull the harsh sound. The fiddle didn’t last too long but it stuck with me in my mind forever. I remembered the tuning and would play it in my head along with music on the radio.

I next saw Sean when I was 29. I had become homeless and ended up living in Bendigo region shortly before finding refuge in Castlemaine. Sean said that I looked familiar and I reminded him of my fiddle lesson when I was 7. He remembered exactly who I was and even remembered my old name.

A friendship grew immediately and more recently we would jam in the underpass of the Castlemaine railway station for the lovely acoustics. Sean would joke that after dedicating his life to music and perfecting his craft, look where it got us.. Playing tunes in the sewers.

I felt so humbled that one of Australia’s best irish fiddle players loved my playing and wanted to have me as accompaniment. His encouragement and kindness towards me and my music was so brilliant, it was finally a joy to play music as I don’t play alone.

I am heartbroken of the passing of my great friend. Thank you Sean for being the reason I now play violin, and for playing such a vital role in so many others music journeys, let alone your contribution to the arts in other areas and your fighting for justice and what’s right.

Thank you Thompson Family Funerals for what was a truly fitting ceremony to celebrate Seans life and to Five Flags Campbells Creek for hosting us for a much needed jam session.

I’ve just had my longest chauffeur booking! 483km pickup at Strawberry Fields music festival in Tocumwal, returning to Bendigo Airport.

Some of the worst kept roads and the new Lexus handled everything that was thrown its way! I’m really grateful people consider booking with Flying Fox for transport in regional Victoria

The new Lexus LS460 is almost in service! Flow Brackets in Bayswater have removed the stock Japanese licence plate plinths and installed their custom designed stand-offs for the FLYFOX plates from VicRoads Vplates.

I cannot speak more highly of Flow Brackets and to my fellow car enthusiasts I highly recommend their work.

Still awaiting a full interior and exterior detail and ceramic coating with ADZ Auto Detailing, and registration with CPV and Melbourne Airport to allow me to pickup passengers in the exclusive chauffeur parking bays.

Not long to go but so far of friends and family I’ve driven, the reviews are that it’s the most comfortable car they’ve had the pleasure of being driven in!

Congratulations to Cazzy and Tim on their wedding day ♥️

Originally set for the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens until rain hit the radar, so a last minute change to Boomtown Winery to host the ceremony along with the reception.

Hi all, Voksy here! As some of you know I will be performing at Northern Arts Hotel on Nov 7th ♥️

This is a new direction for me musically. Inspired by the atmospheric goodness by GoGo Penguin, cinematic Orchestra, penguin cafe and Nils Frahm…

Our couple rehearsals have been merely to get a feel for each other‘s vulnerability and emotional connection, no sheet music and no set structure. The captain of the atmosphere takes charge and it is up to the rest of us to help keep the ship on the right path.

This is the beginning of an exciting long-term project that I hope others enjoy listening to as much as we enjoy creating it.

Pending the success of our first launch I hope to expand on this but I will save the exciting details for after this first successful voyage. 🦊

Enjoyed some downtime at Guildford Banjo Jamboree and Girgarre mini muster, thank you everyone for being so patient and understanding with my time off.

Music is a big part of my life and I appreciate everyone’s support while I set time aside to hit the festivals and perform ♥️

Flying Fox Chauffeur is back in action from the 30th of September, with another festival booked in November 13th to the 18th.

290,000km on the clock so time for another oil change! The previous service was 44 days ago, the Flying Fox is getting busy 🦊

I have kept my pricing low through servicing my car at home, doing my own bookkeeping and accounting, web design, SEO, marketing etc.

My direct competitors in Melbourne are $320+ for Castlemaine to MEL, and now Castlemaine Flyer has adjusted their pricing in line with my own ($225 / $240), it’s time to reevaluate my pricing so I can deliver a luxury experience far above anyone else in this industry .

With some exciting plans for the beginning of next year, I want to thank everyone who has supported me to get to this point. ❤️ I didn’t expect to have a calendar so fully booked, so I’m immensely grateful!

Will keep you all updated but for now it’s business as usual and with how busy my calendar now is getting, it’s more important than ever to book ahead to secure a spot. 😸
