To ensure the community’s safety, and in line with Victorian Government health directions, visitors aged 8 years and over are required to wear face masks in all public indoor settings which includes our museums, IMAX Melbourne and the Planetarium.

All visitors over the age of 12 and two months must be fully vaccinated, or have a medical exemption to enter, and visitors aged 18 and over will be required to show their COVID-19 vaccination status or medical exemption as a condition of entry.

Last night, Museums Victoria was honoured to host the Victorian reception for the UK/Australia Season at Melbourne Museum. The UK/Australia Season is a joint initiative by the British Council and the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to strengthen and build cultural connections.

The artistic program ranges across theatre, film, visual arts, dance, design, creative technology, music, literature, museums and public engagement and is exploring and celebrating the relationship between Australia and the UK.

With Melbourne Museum being the current home of the Treasures of the Natural World exhibition from London’s Natural History Museum, Museums Victoria is proud to have built a strong relationship with fellow cultural institutions in the UK and to host this prestigious, international celebration of arts and culture.

Treasures of the Natural World is in its final days at Melbourne Museum. Visit before 16 January 2022 to experience some of the world’s biggest, rarest, oldest, and most fascinating treasures all the way from London.
