The Wednesday Night Club spent this Wednesday at a fundraising dinner at in Dickson. The event supported and their work with women and girls in Nepal.

It was my first time at the social enterprise which is tucked inside an apartment complex. We sat at a communal table sharing a meal and chatting all things from the fundraiser, sourdough recipes, and how one of our table mates is actively (radically) reducing waste in her whole apartment building.

The Nepalese vegetarian set menu was delicious, homemade and plentiful - we were offered more constantly throughout the meal and even takeaway at the end. There was such generosity in the way the meal was prepared, served, shared and how we were treated as guests.

The evening felt so so wholesome from the food to the conversation (and not to sound cliche but inspiring - that small individual actions can lead to big things). It all gave me huge warm and fuzzies about the work Cafe Stepping Stone does in providing training and employment opportunities for migrant and refugee women.

(Terrible photos taken by me 😊, lovely night)

The Wednesday Night Club spent this Wednesday night on an Enlighten photowalk with Angela from .

We met at the National Library of Australia and walked through the other illuminations of the National Cultural Institutions, stopping to try techniques with light, reflections, silhouettes, and composition all snapped on our phones.

Angela gave everyone confidence to try things they might not usually attempt and was so generous with her knowledge and time.

It was a really lovely night and I felt zen being outside with good people admiring and capturing beautiful things.

Last night we hosted The Wednesday Night Club x SimplyCheecky Cancer Council Girls Night In Fundraising Trivia Night at .cbr on Mort Street.

It was a warm Canberra evening, and Braddon was buzzy in the way it always is in summer. Sitting outside in the front courtyard with flowers on the tables, brown paper for doodling and trivia notes, frozen margaritas, and tacos set the scene for a night that felt genuinely special.

This fundraiser came about because Erna from wanted to run a Girls Night In after her own health scare last year, and we were so very honoured to help her bring it to life.

We had originally set a goal of raising $500 – by the end of the night we had reached $2000!! We are so grateful for every single person who helped make that happen.

And because it was trivia, our trivia master put us through our paces with three rounds of questions covering pop culture, general knowledge, and Girls Night In themes. Here is one of the questions from the evening (If you know the answer, drop it in the comments!):

• Which of the following was invented by a woman: windshield wipers, automatic dishwashers, computer algorithms or paper bags?

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, bought raffle tickets, or helped run the night. BIG thank you to Taco Boi for hosting us in their courtyard and to our prize sponsors — The Rooms Hotel Milton, — for contributing so generously.

The first Wednesday Night Club event of February was a BYO Book and Picnic at the New Acton Waterfront at Lake Burley Griffin last night.

The weather was that perfect not too hot summer evening, so we spread out across picnic tables and blankets. A few of us read, a few of us chatted, and a few of us just enjoyed being offline for a moment in the middle of the week.

I love this spot! At one point someone wandered down straight from the office, still in work clothes, flying a kite like it was the most natural way to end a Wednesday. People walked their dogs past us, the breeze was warm, and it all had that simple summer evening magic that makes you wonder why we do not do this more often.

The finale of the night was the light softening and the sky giving us a genuinely stunning sunset.

It made my mid‑week feel bigger by sharing a small moment with old friends and new faces.

⭐️ Next event on Wednesday, 18 February is a special Cancer Council fundraising trivia night featuring margaritas, tacos, and some damn great prizes. Link in bio for details.

The fourth Wednesday of the year meant wrapping up our Heated Rivalry watch party with episodes 4–6 (and holy moly episodes 5 and 6 are WOW)! The show is truly a beautiful piece of TV. It’s not the kind of love story we usually see on mainstream screens, and it was made even better by watching in a room full of people who were ready to dissect every moment the second the credits rolled.

Most people there were rewatchers, and the main takeaway from the room was that a rewatch is highly recommended! On the whole: great soundtrack, great performances, great tension. Plus, as someone who grew up in a Russian‑speaking household, the Russian from non-Russian actors was genuinely impressive.

There was something really lovely about the night — spending a Wednesday night doing something one usually does at home (binge-watching the latest craze!) as part of a bigger community.

Thanks to everyone who came along - such a good group to finish this show with!
