"The World Stole Jamaica's Sound… Here's The Proof " !
"Did you know that many of the world's most popular music genres may never have existed without Jamaica?

From Reggaeton and Dembow to Hip-Hop, Grime, Dubstep and even Afrobeats, Jamaica's influence on global music is impossible to ignore. In this CaribScope Daily documentary, we uncover the shocking story of how a small Caribbean island transformed music forever.

We'll trace the journey from Kingston's legendary sound systems to the streets of New York, the clubs of Puerto Rico, the studios of London and the vibrant music scenes of Africa. Along the way, we'll explore the influence of Dancehall, Dub, DJ Kool Herc, Shabba Ranks, Grime, UK Drill and much more.

Did the world build billion-dollar music industries on ideas born in Jamaica? Why do so few people know the full story? And which global genres owe the biggest debt to Jamaican culture?

Watch until the end and let us know your thoughts in the comments."

For this one I'm digging into a different corner of the collection.

Most people know me for playing African and Afro-Latin music, but at Rooftop Roots + Reggae I'll be exploring the reggae sounds that emerged across the Lusophone and Francophone world, alongside Cuban and Afro-Latin interpretations of roots and dub.

Looking forward to sharing some gems, a few surprises, and some deep vibrations with you all. 🔊🌍✊🏿
