Why I’ve started getting up at 5am:
My dog Lumi barked early one morning, waking me up an hour earlier than usual so I had no choice 😅 Then I had an epiphany and realised what I could do with the time if I got up at that time every day 🤔 🤯
Reasons I’m loving it and plan on keep doing it:
- [ ] I get to see my boyfriend in the morning (he leaves for work super early)
- [ ] At night I actually look forward to the next morning because I get to do something for myself as soon as I wake up
- [ ] It has pockets
- [ ] I have no distractions or excuses at that time of day so I actually do what I planned to do
Please note: I’m now going to bed an hour earlier, sleep is so important. It’s not that I have an extra hour in the day, it’s that I have an extra hour where I actually have energy to do what I want to do, instead of trying to do it later in the day after work when I’m tired A.F. and have zero motivation.
I’ve also set up my yoga mat in my office/‘home studio’ and this has been the biggest game-changer! Because it’s not in the way of anything (as it would be if it was in the living room), I can leave it laid out permanently, meaning it’s now so easy and accessible for me to exercise. I believe that if exercise is convenient, affordable (or totally free!) and enjoyable, you’re so much likely to do it.
Being able to wakeup, walk down the hallway to my home studio, pop on a YouTube video and get started right away without paying a cent, having to drive anywhere or be there at a certain time has removed all barriers for me.
I’m planning to use this time for yoga, 30 day challenges, workouts, running, personal creative projects and business development, etc etc. I’m sure it will evolve over time, and I’m so excited! 😃
Isn’t it great when you finally work something out that’s been plaguing you for years?! What’s one thing that you’ve accidentally or on purpose figured out in your life recently?
